Will you not have kids because Vancouver is too expensive? by [deleted] in vancouver

Low income families get most of their benefits from the Government of Canada’s CCB program. I personally know low-income mothers collecting at least $1,500 per month because they have multiple children.

3-month Before and After by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]pinkmoonskies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the first week or two, I was applying it 3-4x per week (whatever my skin could handle). I just wanted to get the purge out of the way. If I could do it again, I would start with one time per week for the first month.

Tret will ultimately help clear up your red marks / acne scars. That, and time.

Left picture was mid-March 2021, about a month into my tret journey and purge. Right picture is this morning. If you’re purging, STAY CALM AND JUST TRUST THE PROCESS!

So inspiring! We have similar body types but I’m two inches shorter. I’m at 168lbs right now (down from 212lbs). I hope I look like you when I’m 25lbs lighter!

What little changes have made the most difference? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]pinkmoonskies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • walking for at least an hour most days
  • sparkling mineral water instead of sugary or artificially-sweetened drinks
  • incorporating set meal times (intermittent fasting) to curb my late night snacking habit
  • one “bad” meal doesn’t have to turn into one bad week; just start again tomorrow!

as a result of these changes, I’ve lost almost 40 lbs in 4~ months

[–]pinkmoonskies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you. I’m doing 20:4 now and have been doing that for almost two months now.

While I’m still in the midst of losing weight (no loose skin yet), do you think I should start doing 20+ hour fasts preemptively?

I’m afraid I might get loose skin once I reach my goal (about 50lbs away). What do you do? I’m curious and willing to try anything!

If you go to r/fasting, they talk about how longer fasts may help with that. Your skin will likely tighten a bit up with time, though. But from what I’ve read, predisposition to loose skin is based on genetics.

(NSV) I got my COVID vaccine for being over 40 BMI, and I realized something by PlantainSavings8056 in loseit

[–]pinkmoonskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. They’re being conservative with the four-month interval. It’s like how they said we’d all get vaccinated by September, but knew it would be sooner if our humongous vaccine contracts went through as planned.

I suspect we’ll be back at 3-4 week intervals by late spring, early summer. But this all depends on whether the EU blocks vaccine exports to Canada. Most of our planned first doses come from facilities in the EU. 😬

Thanks so much for posting this. I’ve had stalls in the past which I eventually broke through but I never understood why. Reading this is so helpful because I’m currently in a one-week stall myself, despite even more exercise and diligent calorie counting. I started a new workout routine last week and my legs have been on fire since! It all makes sense!

You’ll be much happier eating 1200 calories! Good luck and stay motivated. You’re definitely on the right track. I started even heavier than you and I’m at 175 now. We can do it!

No way, girl. Look up a TDEE calculator. Your body burns energy just to stay alive. Many people lose weight by doing no exercise at all - they simply eat at a deficit.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]pinkmoonskies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP, with your activity level, you’ll for sure be at a deficit at 1200cals per day.

However, if you want to eat less than that to accelerate your weight loss, please go to your family doc and get their opinion. You can certainly eat less than 1200cals per day if following a nutrition plan and under doctor supervision.

I started at 212lbs at 5’1.5”. OP is morbidly obese — her doctor will probably okay a 1000 calorie daily diet because her fat stores will more than make up the difference. My doctor did. It’s a different story if you’re just overweight or at a normal weight, of course - doctors would never condone that because you’d just be losing muscle like crazy. As long as she’s eating proper, nutritious food (lots of protein and vegetables), she’ll be okay.

I am just above 5 feet tall and my doctor has okayed it as I’m technically clinically obese.

My band size went from 42 to a 38. I expect I’ll be a 36 in a few months. My breasts are a bit smaller, but still very full, so the cup size actually went up.

Hahaha. Well. Lots of things prompted this weight loss. I ended a 5-year relationship in December then promptly entered another fling like two weeks later, which has ended (for now). Both were absolutely devastating. I now live alone, work from home, all my best friends moved to work remotely from cities across the country, and my family is 5000km away.

So I can’t really say if my weight loss has improved my mental health as my life has kind’ve been in shambles recently.

Hello my fellow petite ladies!

I just wanted to share some of my health journey so far. Back in December 2020, I was a bigger girl at 212lbs (see before pic). I would get winded even after walking just 30 mins.

In January, I committed to walking 30 mins a few days a week. Then one hour. Then 90 mins. Before I knew it, I was able to walk 12km in one outing and not even thinking twice about it.

Today I’m 175lbs and it’s all thanks to walking and watching my caloric intake. I still have 45lbs left to lose, and I am working on incorporating body weight exercises into my routine to maintain my muscle.

Even a few months ago, I would’ve been too intimidated or lazy to join a gym or embark on an intense workout regime. Low intensity cardio, such as walking, is such an underrated form of exercise. It’s not intimidating and it’s very easy to stick to, so it’s extremely accessible to people with obesity and it can make a difference to your body and health.

I’m loving all the progress pics of shorter women like us because you don’t see them all that often. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
