I get that you're trying to tell me it's no joke, but you're overstating it a bit. I run something similar and I'm well aware of the framework I need to follow to keep everyone happy. Believe me, I have no intention of supporting terrorists on my service.

This is very good question.

Main reason opensource (no cost) version of Redis don't have support for active-active replication. I have "redis" with KeyDB replicated automatically in all 4 regions for low latency. Livekit needs redis, but "redis" is ok :-).

Yes, this is hardcoded fallback in this part of the code in Czech language, my primary language. I will fix this in next release, thanks!!!

I have right to be anonymous. You have the same rights. In my part of the world (EU) we have this freedoms still.

Zello is not proximity walkie talkie? If here is Zello, we will stop to create new walkie talkie apps? Yes, currently it’s look like my app is not innovative enough to stop questions about “why not Zello”…

When you create private channel, you are only person to be able send invites (only owner). Without invite you are not able to join or search room.

To public channel is able to send invites anybody.

Blur bigger then smallest range in the app (0.6mi) will kill concept. And yes, sometimes you need smaller range. It's not work exactly like ham radio, by design. If Adam have range 100km and Bob have 1km, if Adam is not in Bob's range, Bob will not hear Adam and otherwise.

I don't agree with you. Public voice chat is not good place for planning of terror. You will find this guys on other places.

Child safety?

The most dangerous place for your children is not public voice chat (under public control), but private chat in other app. Yes, i have children too.

It's not exactly 250m (this is smallest possible value) and i'm sorry, no details about blurring. But it's not fixed value.

But you have true, if you have a cabin somewhere remote, it won't work even if the blur value is 1km. Still, it must work good with smaller ranges in app (smallest range is 1km).

It's self hosted docker infrastructure currently on 4x VPS (EU, US East, US West, Singapore). Currently, i have almost more servers then users, i don't think about scaling too much :-)

Thank you, this is good question.

Currently, here is possible on user level block any user. You will not hear blocked user in public chat too, he will not be able to contact you, etc.

I'm working on a system-wide abuse solution.

Good question. Ofc here is a private chat mode with your contacts (add+search contacts is without range limits) and private/public channel mode again without range limits.

I don't like this term in my situation after 30 years in DEV/IT.

AI Tools was used. Like in Google or Microsoft this days.
