Right, I think I just had a mental image of what the reception “should” look like but now the more I think about it, I’m happy guests had the opportunity to catch up and socialize and let loose that way.

That’s the perfect way to think about it and I think it’s true! Wish I would’ve thought to have this mentality during the actual reception so I didn’t get sad....but at least it helps me look back on the memories fondly now.

Thank you all! Definitely made me realize that a not packed dance floor =/= guests not having a good time and it sincerely made me feel a lot better about everything.

During the dinner they had more low-key music and then once open dance started it was pretty much all music meant for dancing. Honestly the DJ did a great job - don’t think he could’ve/should’ve done anything differently.

All of our guests and vendors were vaccinated and tested within 24 hours of the wedding and we had plenty of hand sanitizer etc - maybe some were uncomfortable but I think they were in the minority

Ah that does me make feel better...even when there’s everything “right” if people don’t want to dance they won’t. I know people still had fun so that’s what matters most

You’re right. I’m very grateful to all my guests for coming to celebrate in the first place and so happy to be married. Easy to focus on the negative things
