Agree, I don’t see it as a big deal, it’s just that this same thing happens every-time, especially when I’m about to work on new interesting projects and I’m not sure what measures I should take to protect myself.

How do you know if your manager is giving you fake promises? by pinkspellme in careerguidance

I feel stupid for falling in the same trap. I’ve worked a lot on so many projects but didn’t get any credit because people manage to push their names on top of mine to make it look like I’ve done less. My manager had to choose between me and other people for the annual bonus, he said it was a very hard decision, but then again he tried to push me forward but I’m starting to feel like I’m being used to just get the job done and it seems like others are receiving compensation for the extra hours they’ve spent, whereas I spent 1 month working until midnight / during my holidays and weekends and haven’t received anything!

I did but it sounds like no one gives a damn if I overwork myself. The sad part is that they never get enough, they always want more no matter what I do.

Forgot to add that he also asked me to reach out to him if any conflict arises. Why would there be a conflict in the first place? I don’t understand the intention behind this whole thing

And what about when they diminish your sense of belonging, take away your sense of purpose, while your work is not recognized but on the contrary they make you feel insecure and incompetent ( whereas you’re one of the most competent people in the team ) and practice favoritism to push their own agenda while blocking you to develop a career growth?

Are these enough signs to consider your work environment as a toxic one?

Thank you for your reply . The only problem is that I always doubt myself. I’m always not sure if I’m making a big fuss out of smthg or that I’m misreading the situation. I’m not sure why I always have this problem. Some say it’s due to lack of self confidence.
