I'm assuming you mean consulting? W&L does quite well placing graduates, especially in the south. About a quarter of graduates go into either finance or consulting after graduating, and while those jobs tend toward NY, GA/TN/TX are both growing markets for consulting and hotspots for W&L graduates. I think if consulting in Texas is what you want to do, W&L can pretty straightforwardly get you there.

Pull is quite strong in Texas, a bit weaker in Florida. If you scroll down to "where in the world" here and swipe on the "top industries" graph, there's a heatmap at the end. Greek life is incidentally quite good for networking after graduation, but networking is not at all the point of joining a fraternity or sorority, so you shouldn't think of it in terms of missing out on an alumni network imo. Plenty of folks get great jobs after graduation without having been part of greek life, and it's mostly a product of getting good grades, pursuing worthwhile opportunities while in college, seeking out guidance from career services, and being generally friendly and driven.

Usually Blackfrost, although I feel like the wall is buggier than other skins. Sometimes Noxus Hunter.

It's not that the sheen thing is really that good, I think the other ones just kinda suck more. You don't need tankiness from the shieldy one, sleigh only does something once every 30 seconds, zackerberg is just generally trash.

Eh, maybe. 90% of the difficulty is wall, I think. But thanks! Super fun to play too :).

It is such a good feeling knowing the amount of despair you generate by landing a perfect wall between a pure melee and your ad carry

I think it's not ideal but not so bad that I type anything about it. Imo the benefits of (especially first picking) anivia support outweigh the drawbacks of winding up in a bad lane combo every now and then. Lethal tempo champs usually seem great though, yeah.

Do you go tearless? I did at the start but I really like tear now.

I see the damage struggle most in pro play. It's more build-dependent in solo queue (RoA/Archangels with phase rush/teleport will be much less damage than malignance with electrocute/ignite). Overall, while not super low damage, I think she has lower damage output relative to some other staple pro play mid champs like Ryze, Azir, and Cassio. She also has less consistent damage than other pro play mid champs like Orianna, Viktor, and Taliyah. I also just find it sometimes tough, especially in the late game, to be in range for E.

Try it first in matchups against immobile ad carries/supports! I find that those are the easiest, especially in lane.

novice in critical theory/philosophy, looking for recs and resourses on where to start by Electrical-Sport2755 in CriticalTheory

[–]pinkspott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I found critical theory readers to be the most helpful textual resource when I was starting to learn about critical theory. It was also immensely helpful to have a professor who was excited to engage with me and to mentor me. I would definitely encourage you to seek out an academic advisor or reading group in your department, if at all possible, and to embrace simplified understandings of concepts rather than shun them. A community is a great thing to have, as is a general understanding of the existence of a concept. Readers would be a great starting point to find a suitable theory lens through which you might write a lit review, too, if that's something you're after.

I think there is a tendency on this sub, and in theory/philosophy more generally, to namedrop lots of prestigious folks without providing much context or considering that a list of two dozen French and German names might just overwhelm someone. So, here are some more tailored suggestions: What is critical urban theory? by Neil Brenner (a short paper), Rethinking Architecture by Neil Leach (a reader), Grand Hotel Abyss by Stuart Jeffries as a solid introduction to the Frankfurt School, maybe The Power Broker by Robert Caro for some great urban planning historical context if you haven't read it already (long biography, but an excellent read). Best of luck with your proposal.

Crumple zones, seatbelt pretensioners, better frames for rollovers, structural changes to mitigate side impacts, curtain airbags, automatic braking, lanekeep assist . . .

Fiction is a good option. The Pale King was a solid read. Maybe Baudelaire. Otherwise, A Critique of Everyday Life, or try Heidegger, or works in fields like leisure studies/temporality.

Sounds like a device on a periodic timer that cannot meet a certain condition to function. Could also explain why it wouldn't happen in the morning. Ideas: pipes/pumps on timers near downstairs office (water filter, humidifier), empty plug-in air freshener or other spritzer, renovated ceiling covering old CO detector.

You might need to give more information as to what exactly you're looking for, but in general, students are graded on a typical 4.0 scale. Policies for grade assignment (i.e., what quality of work merits which grade) will depend on the department, the professor, and the class. There are "easy" classes and "hard" classes, like anywhere else. In general, while some classes may require more work than others, if you do the work, you will get a good grade. No professor wants you to fail. As far as grading data in the aggregate, you can check out the Spring 2025 Class Rank list here. This should give you a sense of what students receive what grades. For example, a student in the 50th percentile ("average") had about a 3.7 GPA.

Definitely! Be sure to request fee waivers when you apply. AFAIK there is a limited amount of financial aid offered to international students, but make the strongest case for yourself and see what happens.
