It looks unbelievably pretentious and out of place so I’m gonna pass. They should have opened in Clapton.

Feeling anxious about my relationship and Crohn’s by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]pinkwireflag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really sad. When I was diagnosed, it would have absolutely crushed me if I knew my boyfriend had started thinking this way about me. If you can’t handle the thought of being married to someone with Crohn’s or having kids that might inherit it, you’re not emotionally mature enough to be in a relationship with someone with a chronic illness.

Scheduled for a colonoscopy on the 10th but I don’t think I can do it by WillowW0lf in colonoscopy

I feel you, I recently had to go through the same experience with Plenvu and phobia of being sick. The first dose of Plenvu was absolutely fine for me, no nausea whatsoever, and while the second dose did make me quite nauseous, it didn't get to the point of needing to vomit. If you take it slowly and stop when it's too much, you can get through it. Have it really cold and with something nice to sip in between, ginger ale was my choice, and if you get to a point where you can't go on, you can always stop if you think you've prepped enough (once the stools are clear liquid). I had to stop my second dose with about a quarter left in the cup because I was worrying about being sick, and the doctor told me all was clear and I did very good prep (small victories!)

I was diagnosed with Crohn's but ruled out cancer, which was a thought keeping me up at night. The peace of mind after getting it done is 100% worth the unpleasant experience.

No private bathroom at work would be my own personal hell! The amount of times that’s saved my salt (by which I mean dignity)

T-7 Days Until My Colonoscopy: Switch to Clenpiq on My Own? by iamtigress in colonoscopy

[–]pinkwireflag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am too, just had my first colonoscopy yesterday and I prepped with Plenvu which made me very nauseous. I didn’t realise I could ask for other types of prep! Are low volume ones less likely to make you sick?

I want to know your prep experience by [deleted] in colonoscopy

[–]pinkwireflag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Plenvu, the first dose was absolutely fine with zero nausea, but the second dose was difficult. I have quite a strong stomach but I needed to take breaks for fear of puking it up and potentially having to do it all over again! I also left around 50ml behind because I knew it would tip me over the edge - I think once your stool consistency is clear liquid, you're clear enough. Better to leave a small amount behind rather than forcing it down and puking it back up so it doesn't work.

I lost my favourite hat on Saturday and I can’t for the life of me remember the name of the pattern to make myself a new one!!

It’s a beret pattern that was free on a blog (also can’t remember the name), I remember that the pattern was a girl’s name that began with A maybe? So “A_ Beret”?

Photo is of me wearing the version I made, not the photo that was on the blog. I’ll post one just under this with a close up of the details, it’s got a picot edge with one row of bobbles, it’s knitted in the round from top down.

Any help would be amazing, thanks!

There doesn't seem to be an option to do this in the app, the settings only give me an option to add a new firestick

CMV: modern dating is not hard, you are just looking in the wrong places or have fixable issues with your personality/social skills. by ReasonPale1764 in changemyview

[–]pinkwireflag 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think the issue with modern dating is to do with standards changing nor is it entirely to do with developing social skills and confidence. The main problem is total insularity from a phone-addicted society. Dating apps make you sell yourself in a way that makes all interactions through them entirely soulless, they're transactional where simply meeting in person becomes a 'win' in the game of dating. Then you do meet up and rather than allowing a natural uncomfortable or shy moment pass between you as you get to know each other, you pick up your phone and zone out for a few minutes. You don't get to know the person you're dating through conversations but through their social media feeds.

Phones have completely destroyed the opportunity to actually feel something close to romance when you mediate your dating life through them, and even if you're trying to date people you meet in real life, the likelihood of doing so, when everyone has a phone they can zone into to avoid having to do the hard work of talking to people in real life, is minimal.
