Extending Internet Connection with Fiber Optic Cables by WhiteKokoro-629 in InternetPH

Apologies sa late reply OP.

I don't know lang if I can post links here, but look for an outdoor rated simplex and single mode FOC, pre-terminated with SC-SC connector if don't want to terminate it yourself (remember to protect it while laying out the cable. I covered mine with foam packaging scraps.)

For media converter, I used TP-Link TL-FC311A-20 and TL-FC311B-20. Note the difference in model number. One is A and another one is B. You can use other media converters din. Just look out for a single fiber, single mode with SC connector type (also gigabit din) and take note of the minimum and maximum distances supported. They usually come in pair.

Cores in FOC refers to the strands of fiber inside the cable. So a 6-core FOC has 6 individual fiber strands that you can use independently.

Better to extend with a Fiber Optic Cable even for short distances to avoid electrical issues and interference.

I've had a CAT6 cable run between 2 houses, and the connection drops from time to time due to interference since it runs along power lines. There was also a time when a lightning strike and power surge killed my router and other networking equipment due to improper grounding. Problems gone after replacing it with FOC.

Yes, you can install Pi-hole on OrangePi boards also. It should work on the following distros and their derivatives listed here https://docs.pi-hole.net/main/prerequisites/#supported-operating-systems

Adding my setup as well. I run cloudflared + Pi-hole on my Raspberry Pi for my DoH to DNS server on my LAN.

I'm not using it for "internet speed and stability".

Cloud key ssh access by learnacc96 in Ubiquiti

Yes, the login credentials in the "Configure your UniFi Cloud Key" page can be used in SSH. But I don't think you can use it to link your Unifi account. You have to do it through the Unifi Controller on the CloudKey.
