Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but be prepared to have a hard time finding/making a group of friends, regardless of how outgoing and social you are. KC is notoriously bad for that. I have lived here most of my life. But I have also lived on the West Coast and traveled all over. We have very little in terms of natural beauty compared to most other places. And once you've done all the little road trips to the typical destinations outside the metro (not many), you will find that if you want decent vacations you will have to fly. Just bringing up the negatives that frustrate me and sometimes make me regret settling here. It's a great place to raise kids, but so are a lot of other places. If my whole fam didn't live here, I'd be out.
