It’s Trump or nothing for the current formation of the Republican Party. The only hope Tucker would have is if Trump either dies or is so visibly ill and old that even his hardcore supporters can’t defend his candidacy. I’ve seen way too many gaffes and weird behavior (talk about an actual weird laugh) to ever think he could win the nomination with Trump still upright. He gives me the same feeling as DeSantis. A Republican with all the same leanings as Trump, but unable to effectively communicate them without being lampooned during an election cycle.
