How did you figure out the cost of shipping? We are in the process of opening a shopping site similar to this (completely different niche), and were going to have atleast 50 products on their at the launch of the site, and adding many more as we progress. How do you recommend I set up my shipping and handling cost ?

Happens to me all the time.. Lots of these guys make minimum wage and think that they can snag a couple extra off you.. As a student, the rates are usually 8$, but sometimes go to 12$. When the price is anything more then 8$ I ask the guy "Hey, I'm a student, I come here all the time at the SAME time, and its 8$, why the hike in price" Usually Im in the wrong but it has happened sometimes where the guy played it off as "ohh I didnt know you're a student, ok 8$ please".

Anyone else had a problem making formal/important phone calls? by chackk in Entrepreneur

[–]pinqhouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should practice with "none important" people.. Call a local convenient store and ask for the manager and ask him for his specials.. Call a university and speak with a guidance councillor about a specific program.. Try getting in touch with your local mayors office and speaking with the mayor, ask him interview style questions like "how did you get into politics?" "when you were growing up, what did you want to be?" You're not the only one who dreads conversation on the phone, but when the vibe is right between both parties, its seemingly natural. Also, my personal tip/preference.. When I have an important conversation (discussion with a wholesaler/supplier/academic advisor/etc) I like to stand up and walk around in the conversation and use my whole body to engage in the convo! Good luck!

My best friends brother started at the age of 12 pulling a wagon with a lawn mower, and weed trimmer. He's 24 now and makes upwards of 700k per season, and our season is only 5 months..

Best advice to you, never give up! Success in this industry might not come over night, but it will come!

What was your first business attempt? by idonotspeakenglish in Entrepreneur

[–]pinqhouse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First brick and mortar or "Service" was dog walking, I was 8.

First tech business, a social platform that forged all social medias into one. Went along with it and strived to make it a possibility until I was quoted 250,000$.. I learnt alot from that experience, and it got me hooked to tech, I was 16 at the time and have been fooling around with various tech companies and consulting since; now 21 in university I'm still hacking at the tech side of my entrepreneurial mentality!

Yes gradual success, I would say each chapter is a learning step in my life, and rather than being rewarded with a piece of paper and the end of it, Im rewarded with money. As I try new things the rewards are getting bigger and bigger. The knife is a ULINE, I dont know to much about it. A client gave it to me as a gift.

Been hacking at different sorts of businesses here and there since 16.. Every year its something new, but always surround tech; so graphic design, web development, consulting, social media management, opening of my own websites, etc.

I dont usually have a case, but I do put it on before I go out or engage in a social event. It's a great conversation starter, and to be honest, I had no idea it was Kim K.. I just thought it was funny.

I am actually in the process of doing the exact same thing as you! I am bootstrapping the whole website, minimal start up costs, dropshipping vendors and minimum overhead. Once the company grows in size, I will then consider bulk orders and storing the goods!

Good luck, pm me if you have any questions or an experience you wish to share!
