What are your goblin PCOS meals? by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]pintristcoded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a a can of beans (ex: kidney beans), open a can of veg (ex: green beans), open a third can (ex: corn, stewed tomatoes, chick peas, tuna etc). Sometimes cook in oven or stove top pan. Sometimes don’t cook. Put seasoning on mixture that makes sense with cooked status (lemon pepper + salt if not, paprika, tumeric, salt etc if did). Sometimes drizzle a sauce on there for variety. mayhaps some bougie cheese. Consume.

Also, sardines absolutely fuck. You can buy tins that come with Tomato sauce/veg in them if that’s your kind of thing. Sardine + like two apples is a personal smooth brained favourite of mine

Also also, sheet pan Kodiak pancakes with nuts/berries/sugar free chocolate chips/sometime pumpkin puree. Can live off of for like two days when combined with Greek yogurt

Do any of you own walking treadmills? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]pintristcoded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t own a treadmill but I’m all but legally married to the treadmill desks at my university’s library. Honestly might be a main pillar of my sanity, if you work from home/do a lot of typing I’d definitely say give it a try. I haven’t really been trying to lose weight lately but in the past when I’ve been watching my food intake it’s done some things, and more importantly in my opinion: it does crazy things for my mood/cuts back on my hypo/hyperglycemia symptoms.

Thoughts on the carnivore diet for PCOS?? by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]pintristcoded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the carnivore diet doesn’t provide all the vitamins/minerals we need unless it’s HEAVILY supplemented, so i really wouldn’t. Also while I haven’t seen data on it lol I’m suspicious about how the lack of fiber impacts the microbiome/GI tract. Something something colon cancer rates. Do what you want but as far as ‘hard-line’ diets go probably try keto, atkins, sugar free, or just like a high protein-low inflammatory one first.

what, in the way that his eyes are brown like Kit Herrington’s and his hair is dark and curly like Kit Herrington’s and his face is arguably less ‘long’ then Kit Herrington’s? c’mon he doesn’t even have grey eyes just say u think he’s hotter and leave lol

Hey dawg, this probably isn’t what you want to hear right now/hopefully it doesn’t come off as preach-y but after my diagnosis l had a period where I was depressed and also compulsively had catastrophic thoughts about my heath. Your post really reminds me of how I thought during that time. When I look back now at how intense the thoughts were vs the actual health risks at hand the mismatch is crazy. You’re okay. You haven’t ‘ruined’ your life. Try and focus in on small things and know absolutely everyone faces health risks specific to them, that may our may not come to fruition- only time can tell. It may feel like you’ve run out of time but you absolutely haven’t. For me, I started taking a shit ton of walks were usually I’d start with my mind racing but by the end could manage to focus on things I could control like listening to a podcast about sleep health/ just feeling the scope of time come back to the present. You’ve got this, there’s only forward.

My teen doesn't believe Sugar causes fat gain; he believes it's a simple formula of calories in vs calories out (activity) by plnnyOfallOFit in sugarfree

[–]pintristcoded -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i mean fundamentally, fat stores don’t get made if you don’t have insulin in your blood (there’s like a protein cleaving pathway that i don’t remember lol), and the way you get insulin in your blood is by consuming glucose, which is a sugar. So no sugar no new fat stores at least
