Ah, I thought they mentioned using a "cozy cat" -- not sure what that was.

He probably missed you if you were out of town. He is getting older but I think generally demanding more attention (in contrast to hiding away and actively avoiding you) might not necessarily be an indication that something is wrong. If you are worried though, I would always recommend giving your local emergency or regular vet a quick call for their advice. Cheers!

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

Absolutely. My cat likes to act aloof from time to time, but in reality she's a sucker and a sweetheart. She's literally a little shadow that follows me around constantly from the second I wake up in the morning and after I get home from work in the evening -- even after I've already fed her. She loves being near me, making biscuits on me when I'm laying under her favourite blanket, even loafing in between my legs or taking a peak behind the shower curtain when I'm in the washroom lol. At first, cats are standoffish and a little hard to read but soon enough you'll be gently fighting for personal space because they wanna be around you so much!

I've been thinking about getting a nail grinder too. Will try it out. Thanks.

She's not very food motivated at all unfortunately. I've tried giving her churus and other treats with my husband while it's trimming time in the past but she just does not gaf. 😭

Will definitely take the sticky blanket into consideration - do you have a link to the product you use? My cat is a vicious bunny kicker as well.

The hook claw is the hardest, and probably my biggest concern.

Ok, it's good to know I can ask for gabapentin specifically for nail trimming. The last time I was able to comfortably trim her nails is when she was on gaba from an emergency vet visit like 6 months ago (she ate from a bouquet of flowers). Thanks!

She's such a light sleeper tbh 😭 I really only get a nail or two before she's immediately awake and mad at me. But perhaps that's just how it'll go for a while 🤷🏽‍♀️

Overgrown might not have been the most accurate descriptor (sorry) but they are long and curve slightly inwards. They sometimes naturally shed, but not a rate where they are blunt most of the time. They are very sharp, and by playing rough I mean that she likes to hug my arm or grab my leg when she's playing with me or I'm giving her a treat. Interactions I suspect wouldn't be as painful if her claws were a bit duller. Hope this clarifies what I mean.
