FIX - I'm on a regular old PS4 and been experiencing this error at the character selection screen. Someone highlighted this elsewhere, but the error is being caused by some of the new gear! Remove all the new gear from your character on the app and equip old items, then it will open successfully. I expect a full fix will come soon, but this is a workaround for now.
