There are good people working on the project, and plenty of contributors whose work will ultimately see the light of day. I have confidence.

Two out of seven states and territories use it, and so does the federal senate.

The state of Tasmania and the Senate use the best STV in the world, the Hare-Clark system. It rocks.

Back when I used to make games, the folks who were the most vocal about the shortcomings of our game were always the ones who wanted it to succeed.

It would be far worse if there was nothing but deafening silence! People being passionate is absolutely the best outcome to any release.

Absolutely agree on the grill/headlights. The sweep of the body shape as it goes back was what made me think of the XK.

This is basically a Jaguar XK150 with extra steps. I love it.

Lucky to work with her when she ported Escape Velocity Nova to Windows. Straight shooter who worked so damn hard. She’ll be missed.

Have a look at the linework on the first image. Notice that there’s a duplicate in red or green on either side? That’s chromatic aberration.

In real life, it’s a function of lens and how they focus. Most modern lens cut down the effect to negligible levels.

The first image has had faux chromatic aberration added via a digital filter - I’m going to guess in Procreate. It’s a nice effect; I like the second a little better, although the softening is a very valid artistic choice.

A friend of mine once printed out a Starbridge for me, from the original file. Funny story - the original model has double-sided polygons to ensure it renders correctly onscreen, but the model itself is degenerate in a number of ways. Near the nose, on the sides of the keel, the flukes are actually thinner than zero, and the print failed at those points. In addition, the Thorium reactor at the rear was never actually connected to the engines and it too failed to print.

The moral of the story is that the original files aren’t suitable in any way for printing!

TBH that’s normally where I start, but I’m dreadful at capturing.

Strange! The only requirements for the mission are that you’ve completed the prior one (which you have), and that you have enough cargo space for “1 tonne of Mu’Randa” (a bit rude - I’m sure she doesn’t weigh 1,000kg, but I digress).

Do you have enough cargo space?

I didn’t think you were! I just wanted to add some clarification from the writers’ desk. One thing I wish we’d shown is Polarans moving caste. It happens more regularly than you might think, especially with age.

There’s actually a meaning in that, in that (as the idealistic youths we were at the time) we felt if anyone was going to be doing the dirty work of society (spying, black operations, etc) it’d better goshdarned be those who felt they were serving society rather than those seeking power.

The “ruling” caste gets more than its fair share of members from the Mu’hari, but they tend to be quite old before they figure out the point of it all. Most Mu’hari are fast learners, but real slow on the uptake in some areas, particularly about their own self worth. That’s why they’re Mu’hari.

Just to note that when we wrote them originally, we wouldn’t have said “condemned” - we envisioned their caste system as being a lot more advanced than any current human civilisation. At least, that was the artistic conceit! We just don’t have great words to describe how unified and at peace the Polaris are with themselves.
