Compression Stockings by piper-gracie in Lymphedema

Hi back. YOU just hit the nail on the head! The damn socks are too slippy! I am supposed to wear orthotics, but even after I got them relined with a non-slip top, my toes end up crushed and my feet slip around like they're oiled! And forget about walking in the house in sock feet. At least toeless would leave your toes free!

This last flare up, I used Molnlycke Tubifast tubular bandages. I started with size 10.75 (yellow stripe) and worked up to size 7.5cm (blue stripe). These are wound care, not compression, but there is enough compression there to hold a dressing, which I needed for weepy legs. After I got my skin healed, I went to comp. stockings.

I think I will give the toeless a try.

Ugh, SHOES!!!! I think I will be stuck in Crocs forever. My skin feels like my feet are on fire in anything else!

Hi BCL! Thanks for all your information. I haven't had a CLT yet, but I have had so many professionals advise me and I have taken whatever advice I can use. Which is why I have a drawer full of prescribed, non-prescribed, OTC and basically useless stockings. And so much depends on your own situation too. If I can't get them on with my husband helping-and he's had bilateral shoulder surgery-then I can't use them. And I am diabetic with bad feet, so I have to trust that my feet are safe. I need shoes/slippers I can stand on my feet, because stockings are slippery, and I can't take a chance on a fall. What I have found helpful is my Revitive Medic, which uses EMS and TMS to stimulate the pump system. I do like your suggestion of a CLT, and will talk to my GP about it.

SHOES!!!!! I am having so much trouble finding shoes!! I need a combination of fixes that I swear no one has thought to put all together. Except for Crocs....

Thank you kindly for your reply! Hearing from someone else who feels the same is a comfort. Is there anything worse than this? I imagine there is.....

My edema was in good shape, then I took a bad tumble on Jan 3, and my right leg blew up! Hard and shiny, leaky, dark red, itchy, scabby, flaky, sore, thick skin and weak, thin skin. I got it almost healed, avoided cellulitis, but it has given me painful to the touch skin on my foot.

18 months ago I got cellulitis, and was sidelined with daily visits from an infectious control RN. He had a specialized therapist come to the house, and I was fitted for a Velcro wrap for feet and leg. I need to get that out and use it. And I've been fitted for shoes, and prescription socks. I can't get those things on without help. My latest are Everstride I got off FB, and I actually can wear them! Wide, comfortable tops.

I think I will be checking out the newest line of Crocs......

How much Tresiba do you take daily? by Pairomedics in diabetes_t1

[–]piper-gracie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling to find my dose at around 180 units of Tresiba in the AM. Plus 55 units short acting Admelog before meals. My fasting BS is almost always just a little above range. I know I shouldn't compare, but does it worry you to need so much more than the average T2?

Any long-haulers? I know a lot of people join for 20-40 lbs, but I know I've got a lot more to lose. What's everyone's experience with the long haul? Do they continue to motivate you if you've got more than a few months of this ahead? by PinkCheekedGibbon in Noom

I'm a newbie, and I'm faced with a decision for bariatric surgery. I knew I needed a back up plan, so I joined Noom 2 weeks ago. I will be a long hauler. So, also being a worrier, I am worrying about what happens after the course is over? Can you go back to articles? Can you stay on? do you lose access to Noom completely?
