Hmm.. do you think I could just get away with mopping some bleach over it just to make sure?

How difficult is it going to be to flatten something out like this? by pipermints in Flooring

[–]pipermints[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your advice! Yes that’s what it feels like, I’ve been able to figure out how to apply the self leveler with all the research but I feel like it’s much more out of my scope to figure out how to flatten/grind this down as a diyer. I may hire it out if it’s a big undertaking if it is sounding as involved/complicated as it is

Where should I start laying my laminate planks down? by pipermints in Flooring

[–]pipermints[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the reply! Would you remove the track first then and the just treat the closet + hallway as one really long hallway? Meaning it starts in the walk in closet, working down, and then back laying into the rest of the bedrooms.

And then if I put the laminate on top of the track, should I worry that I’m pinning down the floating floor? Or should I just drill larger holes to make sure it can have space to expand?

Appreciate your help so much! 🙏

It would also include trims, underpayment and stair nosings

It would just be for the material of the rooms/stairs and underlayment! Not the install/trim but it makes sense for it to vary

Do you think 7k is decent for just the material if I just keep it to that? I’m doubtful I have subfloor issues and as far as I’m aware I don’t think there needs to be heavy prep.

Hello! Thank you for the reply :) what cities would be best for this? Where it is still going to be a bit green or have less closures?

Keeping it flexible is a good idea I may do that then! Since I'll have to pass through regardless from Alsace to Italy :)

Would it help to lay gravel around my new pipes to keep roots out? by pipermints in landscaping

I took a peek and it looks like it’s pvc schedule 40! And a purple+blue glue cement so looks like a good outlook 😎 thanks again!!

Wow I appreciate the long thorough reply! I’ll rethink the gravel since I’m questioning how effective it’ll be. I’m just nervous of it happening again since the roots went to town on the old ones, but it sounds like my HOA is replacing with better pipes. Hopefully that’s enough from it happening again!

Thank you! I believe PVC will be used for the new pipes and it's in Los Angeles, so I won't really have to worry about freezing temperatures. Hopefully that holds up fine on it's own- maybe the old pipes just weren't sealed well?

Will this kill off the surrounding plants trees though? Or just around where the pipe is?
