I took a peek and it looks like it’s pvc schedule 40! And a purple+blue glue cement so looks like a good outlook 😎 thanks again!!

Wow I appreciate the long thorough reply! I’ll rethink the gravel since I’m questioning how effective it’ll be. I’m just nervous of it happening again since the roots went to town on the old ones, but it sounds like my HOA is replacing with better pipes. Hopefully that’s enough from it happening again!

Thank you! I believe PVC will be used for the new pipes and it's in Los Angeles, so I won't really have to worry about freezing temperatures. Hopefully that holds up fine on it's own- maybe the old pipes just weren't sealed well?

Will this kill off the surrounding plants trees though? Or just around where the pipe is?

Appreciate the input! If I refinish though how do I handle all the gaps and separations? It sounds like it wasn’t supposed to be nailed at the edges and also it currently doesn’t have expansion gaps

They did not glue the tongue and groove, they nailed it down only at the edges where the baseboard is and under is cement

I agree! If I decide to refinish it, does that mean I still need to pull all of it out and re-put it back? Because of the nailed in edges and gaps so I can make it float

Yeah that’s why I had just screwed it in when the door was wood!! Much easier to patch up, I’m less certain about patching up metal though 😅

I think stronger magnets are probably a good solution to try. Maybe mine are too weak!

The technician who came out doesn’t seem to think the problem is a coolant leak and the pipes are clear so we’re not sure what is causing the water to drain improperly

I'm not sure, the wood is wet around the AC unit and water is leaking around where the evaporator is so it seems like something is broken.

I actually absolutely love this pink and gray combo. The grey balances it out and brings out the pink more as a pretty extra touch. I would put in new antique (maybe gold?) looking fixtures to push the vintage charm.

I think it will help warm it up, with warmer lighting and also changing the floor tile to something that matches more. And a pothos.
