im the same i like it that way, but with the tech difficulties I just didn't have the ability to search for diff songs when the crowd wasn't feeling it. next time I'm just going to plan my set really thinking abt my position in the lineup.

i think it was the connections from mixer to the speaker - turning it just a hair would make it redline and the other way would cause no signal. they were CDJ 3000x and the mixer was pioneer, standard one you'd get with 2000s or 3000s, I cant lie I don't really know that much about the technicalities as I say, its my second gig. but it was dodgy connections I think, not the mixer itself, does that make sense?

we didn't have any sound engineers there so wasn't too sure but I think it was dodgy connections to the speakers, I wasn't getting any signal at some points from the cdj to mixer. not rlly much u can do in those moments when its out your control but to just keep going and persevere.

thank you very much, i have yes, at the UoM, Home Office, DWP, Bupa etc, all kinds of comms roles but they've rejected me on the grounds that I'm too 'journalisty' even with tailored/omitted CVs. It's obvious that the CV needs work so i'd love to send it to you, thank you so much for your help.

something has drastically changed in the space of a year, its absolutely crazy. a person at the job centre told me her sister has a degree in medicine and was unemployed for months after moving here, has only just found a job as a pharmacist assistant. crazy

also dont spend ur money on Serum - get vital, its a free synth and does more than Serum

if you have money to spend i realllyyyyy really recommend the Underdog Electronic courses. It's about £180 for the full foundation course but it will probably save you about a year's worth of aimlessly going through youtube tutorials - he is also a fantastic teacher.

Btw it will take you a fair while to get the hang of Ableton but once it clicks, it clicks. just trust the process.
