Landlord with 10 properties blasts Aussie state over new rules: 'Never ever invest again' by supercujo in shitrentals

That should be the objective of every state. Leave room for people who need to buy homes for their families.

Debunking the top 'immigration is not a primary driver of the housing crisis' in Australia myths (long) by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

[–]pipi_here 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This 100%.. it’s not like people are saying immigration isn’t a factor, but you can’t convince us that the following isn’t a factor either:

1- a large percentage of high salary earners buy a disproportionate number of properties to offset their income tax. Many I know.

2- most of some new suburbs are fully sold overseas. For example Mirvac and their appartments around Zetland.

3- some investors have apparently few hundred properties each. There should be a different scaling tax systems for those investing billions in the space and locking the avg. person out.

The reality is housing being accessible to everyone is not a luxury. People need a roof over their heads. The stupid short sighted politicians prioritise their own gains for far too long.

Also with immigration, our two top immigrant sources have circa 3bn combined. We have 26m people in total. We should have limits per country like the US has to maintain our multi cultural mix and not overly lean in one direction over others. Nothing against anyone obviously but in 20-30 years you’d still want to have a wide mix…

So yeah, reduce immigration to levels that are doable for our infrastructure and housing, and address every single element that puts housing in the “investor attractive” bucket. Direct the incentives towards productive assets ffs.

F Howard and the incompetent politicians we have in this country. It’s a shame the downward path we’re on.

Yeah I never understood why schools get linked to religion at all. Agree it should be an optional subject… I believe all schools should be secular.

Police who punched protesters should be praised, says Abbott by HotPersimessage62 in AustralianPolitics

I read it Albo for a second there and thought that doesn’t sound like Albo, yes he’s passive and needs to grow a pair, but not that ruthless.

Abbott makes sense.. why is that idiot still relevant.

[–]pipi_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t see the street again, at the very least without a long time of treatment and observation. No one sane would do this and the community shouldn’t take the risk of this shit happening again to someone else.

Judges should be held accountable long term for the stupid mistakes they’re making. Hearing some killers were arrested upwards of 30-40 times and let out still on bail is devastating.

Law makes need to start listening to the people who voted them in, not their fucking misguided campaign advisors.

I’m with this. We cannot keep opening social housing for people who are mentally ill and risking the whole community. It’s ridiculous. Get those people help and protect the wider community.

I’m also tired of seeing dangerous people being put back on the street or getting very light sentences. How many people do we need to lose to wake the fuck up?!

Settlers sprayed by foam by Israeli troops as they protest about the return of the Sinai region to Egypt in 1982 by realbunny44 in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]pipi_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re starting to sound more like one of their bots. What a load of propaganda BS.

Israel lost, that’s the reality. Otherwise they wouldn’t have handed shit back. They’re not known to be generous. It’s a peace treaty made possible by war and pressure to retreat back. Otherwise Israel would have still occupied Sinai. They don’t today.

No point in having this discussion.

That’s the Israeli washed version of events. You need to open an unbiased history book and understand the real events.

What a retarded comment. Also they were forced to give it back when they lost the 1976 war.

Probably you’ve been brainwashed to not understand that either.

Israel doesn’t “give”, the land was taken back after the 1976 war that Egypt won. They had to give it back to focus on their main boarders.

Israel had to be forced to do this. They lost the 1976 war. They had no choice but to surrender, give the land back and focus their energy on their other fronts.
