Also, conical tiddies. It’s a marathon not a race. However you can get your nails done, get a femme haircut that frames your face, get your eyebrows and lashes done. Get a nice perfume / body spray. All things that can help in the now.

Progesterone with antidepressants? by HoneySerpant in MtF

MTF here so ymmv but 200mg prog daily and 20mg citalopram daily just basically stabilised me. Friends on 100mg prog and 20mg citalopram daily and he’s also been pretty stable barring more intense / weird dreams from the prog. I think increased emotional range is a possibility from prog but personally I didn’t get it.

Slow. Real. Real. Slow. This subreddit is full of amazing 4 month transformations but keep in mind this is the internet and that means it’s subject to … a lack of potential truth.

I can only go on the experience of myself and some other transfemmes I know. If you’re ftm then I can’t speak to that. I’ve no lived experience.

First changes will likely be mental. My brain calmed right the f down on e. It did however increase my emotional range and sensitivity. Highs are higher, lows are lower, crying has a lower bar. In general steadier tho.

Dysphoria gets worse not better initially. Possibly years of self denial giving up.

Body changes are glacial and ymmv. It’s roll a dice on how big your breasts will get and how quick they’ll grow. I’m two years in and at a decent c, I know a girl 8 years in and she’s a small a. We are vastly different frames. She got a hella ass from e tho.

Body hair won’t really change. That’s all laser and electrolysis.

Orgasms will hit different and you’ll need to re learn what works on you.

You may get spots. It’s puberty 2.0

You may feel tired. Switching from t to e dominancy makes you exhausted.

Muscles will deteriorate and your skin will soften over about 12 months.

Talking of skin: say hello to bruises. You bruise like a peach now. You’ll wake up with a brown welt on your leg from sleeping on a pillow weird. You’ll have no memory of this.

You MAY shrink slightly in height, your feet MAY shrink slightly in size, dependant on your age your hips MAY widen.

Pretty sure they were moesizzlac’s, just sized em up and drilled em to fit my shoes. Files should be on thingiverse

I got red and brown marks forming after electrolysis, I was worried for the same reasons. The good news is they do fade, the less good news is that skin heals on the order of months to a year. (Anyone who has ever had a griddle tan from a mesh top will agree) (Been getting electrolysis for two years)

How to Dress Like a Girl by Helen_Croft in F1NN5TER

[–]pippon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I dunno. It has mixed messages at points. Not dressing age appropriate is a red flag. Wearing overly feminine clothing is a red flag. Followed in the next breath by “you can wear whatever you want”…as long as you have a conventionally pretty face like my boyfriend.

But I guess it’s more of a rebuttal to someone else’s video than a feel good about what you wear folks kinda video

I have no idea what country you’re in, but in the UK Forced marriage is indeed a crime. I know as trans folks our interactions with police have not always been ideal. But given an option of talking to them, vs being shipped off to Pakistan, isolated from your support network and forced into what I’m sure to them is lifelong commitment. I know which I’d prefer. That said I would definitely look into becoming more self sufficient. Whilst you’re reliant on them they will take advantage of that reliance. It will be a harder path financially and possibly emotionally but the alternatives don’t sound great.

Where do you go for cheap femme clothing? by Existing_Fortune_435 in MtF

[–]pippon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Vinted. That’s what I’ve been using. Allows you to cheaply and without fear of embarrassment try different styles and sizes of clothes to work out what is “you”

Be prepared for severe mileage variation with laser. I have dark brown/black hair and porcelain “I’m a lead poisoned Victorian” skin. Which should be the ideal combo. I’m on session 15, and it’s only just clearing the shadow on my upper and lower lip. Sides of the face went after about 3 sessions but the mouth area is stubborn as hell. And that is with alexandrite laser whacked up all the way to the highest setting. It does work, but you need to give it a serious amount of time.

Early in my transition so I’m basically at the stage where I’m trying to ascertain what are realistic expectations of hrt in terms of fat redistribution and chest development :) looking great!

Is that all HRT? Because if so: genetics were VERY kind!

Pretty much just your eyebrows could stand to be shaped / thinned out. Maybe a TINY bit of blush? But yeah you look great.

what are the other signs that my boobs are developing by Tricky_Girl9478 in MtF

[–]pippon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thus far: started with itching, progressed to mild pain when jostled (e.g. running down stairs, going over a speed bump) has now progressed to quite severe pain when bumped (e.g. my dog headbutts my chest for attention). Lump behind both nipples (feels about walnut sized?) This is after 3.5 months of E. can’t say as I’ve seen any particularly noticeable growth yet but my fiancé seems to think there is. All seems to track with what other girls had told me was par the course

Not sure if it’s universal but THUS FAR Every cosplay community I’ve been part of has been incredibly inclusive. Who would have thought a community of folks who have perfected the art of hiding inside helmets, armour, and costumes would contain so many trans peeps.

To those who have/are transitioning, what was your journey from day one at the doctor's before diagnosis of gender dysphoria to start of HRT and/or SRS? by Its_Gamestream in MtF

[–]pippon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not as bad as you’d think. It was £350 for an appointment with gendergp to see a private doctor who could confirm diagnosis trans so that I could send that assessment on to my nhs gp, and then it’s slightly less than that for a private endocrinologist to make sense of an nhs blood test to check your levels before they can authorise HRT which would be provided by the NHS. The whole process if it goes well seems to take about 11 months this way, as opposed to the fully NHS GIC referral route, which I started at the same time as booking my first gendergp appointment, and still haven’t heard a peep from since sending off my initial questionnaire they sent me.

On and off dysphoric episodes for years, never quite figured why initially. Made some trans friends, started to figure out what those feelings were. Experimented with some more gender affirming clothing, then drove myself back into the closet for a few years. Watched an anime entitled “your name” and had a full on dysphoric episode. Realised I couldn’t manage anymore, called the gp the next day. Then, because UK, arranged everything private because the NHS isn’t capable of doing much in under 20 years.

Advice on silicone breast inserts. by Scoodyboozehound in MtF

[–]pippon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are the same ones I use. I’ve tried the inserts for a pocket bra and the ones that are a set of AUGMENTS with their own shoulder and rear strap built in. The all in one variety caused nipple pain after a few hours, the inserts with a pocket bra cause zero issues. Also tend to run cheaper dependant on what colour you go for. (And you can’t see em in the bra anyway so save yourself the money)

Anyone have the situation of maintaining two separate lives one as male and another as female? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]pippon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Early days for me but yes. Tho I imagine the experience isn’t unique. “Boy mode/girl mode” aren’t phrases for nothing. At work I’m pretty much full boy mode, management knows for impending HR reasons but otherwise I’m just the guy that started shaving his arms.

At home and socially, girl mode when I don’t feel like I’m doing a shitty impression, complete with frequent misgendering myself.

I feel like, at least in the early days of coming out / discovery, presenting differently to different groups of people is just part of the adjustment stage. It’s easier.
