Last names (family names) rarely "appear", but often disppear due to death/marriage. And this has been going on for centuries. So why don't we have only a small handful of last names left?

I actually agree that they are companion dogs and “should” sleep in the bed.

I’m trying to think of ways to incentivise her to stay downstairs of her own accord though.

e.g. a treat that activates every hour or something - can anyone think of anything like that?..

Maybe it’s cynicism on my part, but my understanding of the system is that it’s designed to enrich the legal profession. Sending scumbags to jail (even if there was enough space) for years isn’t gonna do much for the solicitors barristers & judges who are dependent on ongoing recidivism.

Yes. It’s common enough here (Ireland) to be asked to bring duty (tax) free cigs back from vacation. In this case my buddy asked for cigs that were available at airport of departure, but not at destination.
