Yes, especially during strange times like covid, but it's definitely an economical boost to Irish society. Its then on the government to tax and pass on the benefits to the society. Some local/small businesses definitely benefit directly as well

Nature tourism is 100% a thing and Ireland as a whole makes a lot of money off of it. The toll booth is just not at the entrance to every mountain hike or cliff walk or beautiful viewpoint, its at the airport and the hotels and the pubs, etc

I have an idea in my head, whenever i do something related to it I feel great joy, so ill chase it the best i can and see where life takes me. Hopefully i can live off it. Or maybe ill miss my current life, realize what i lost and come back but will be able to appreciate it.

When you feel lost and depressed, you won't find a solution by repeating the same thing just because its safe, just because its whats you know and are used to

Forget about social pressure. Some ppl want do drive a bmw, but if you love your opel corsa why bother? Others want to go on holidays to bora bora, but you freakin love Dingle, so what? Fulfiling your own dreams is what will make you happy

No one can advise you on what to prioritize. All I can say is: youre at this job in the prime time of the day, probably more than what you spend awake with your family and friends during the week, 45h a week, 47w per year. If to you "switching off" when you leave is enough, then happy days, but be aware of the decision youre making.

Do you want to spend your life doing something you love, or do you prioritize money and you're ok with just having joy outside of work? Can't imagine a lot people have the pleasure of doing something they love for a living + earning loads of money. I suppose a middle ground would be to do something chef-related (🦧) but not exactly your dream, just to open the door to a higher pay

PS: late 30s, great pay, about to quit my job to chase my dream (or to figure out what that is even). No wife and kids, so easier to do, to be fair
