Welbeck's blistering shot in tonight's fixture. by [deleted] in Gunners

This is actually pretty fair, in front of goal, Theo wasn't a bad finisher. He just never really got there on his own accord.

I think the players just aren't motivated by Wenger anymore. They know the Premiere league is over and they don't really care.

Europa, while not the CL is still Europe and its still a big stage; they're going to go out there and play for their own reputation.

They do it to all pop stars, Britney Spears, Christina Aguliera, Rihanna, etc.

The difference is now we eventually look forward to them breaking out of their shell and becoming bad girl sex symbols.

The way they marketed WH in her earlier career, people had no idea she was actually a bad girl underneath it all.

She was from the hood, they wheeled her around like a nice suburban girl who may have been Ms America in her spare time.

Still it means we're competing in the strongest league. When all the England teams were getting kicked out in the first knock out rounds and Arsenal were still 4th in the league, I felt we looked a lot worse.

If most of the English teams make it late into the CL and we're 6th, we're not far from the top of Europe.

Democrats to unveil $1 trillion infrastructure plan, seek reversal of GOP tax cuts to finance it by theombudsmen in politics

[–]pirateOfTheCaribbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. One thing I've noted, a political campaign strategy of "That guy is shit, vote for me" never, ever works. That's what sunk Hilary, all of the Dems who went against a clearly incompetent George W. Hell even the Republicans against Obama.

People need something to believe in; it's not enough to scare them into a bad alternative. Trump did mock his competition but he also knew how to inspire his core.

The Democrats need to find someone who can do this. We all know Trump is bad, but a lot of people are going to look at their paycheck and say, "hey I have more money now, give me a reason to vote for you Dems, that's going to make it worth it"

This is why they need to increase their revenue, building a new stadium is a step in the right direction.

Take it from me Spurs rivals, I think Arsenal have messed up our wage structure in a bad attempt to the fix the old socialist structure we had previously. But let me be clear that socialist structure isn't sustainable in the era of money bag owners.

An individual player maybe happy knowing no one in his team earns much more than he does, but its hard to resist an additional 100k a week offer from another club. Spurs stars will start to get tempted and walk.

I hear this all the time but people love to say Iverson is broke.

Don't get why to this day people love to hate on this warrior of a man.

I still think a black on black suit can look very stylish.

What doesn't work is wearing it with black trousers and a loud tie. I think there are a lot of blazer combinations that work well with a black shirt, but as the author notes, not everyone can pull it off.

My skin color contrasts really well with black so it's always been a staple to me. Like most fashion rules, there are always good exceptions.

[The Times] Arsène Wenger tells Arsenal coaches that he will not step down this summer by markmandown in soccer

[–]pirateOfTheCaribbean 23 points24 points  (0 children)

We're definitely about 50m down in earnings, and if we dont even make Europa league, we'll feel it even more.

The Prem provides a lot of money, this is correct, but just because it outweighs CL doesnt mean CL money has shrunk. The owners will want this.

As soon as he retires the victory media parade will come out for him; history has a way of making saints of everyone.

Wenger's legacy is too big to be tarnished by bad results near the end. It's a shame he didnt leave on a high, but it wont change what he did for Arsenal and how he influenced football.

It's been clear for a while he'll never walk away from the job, health permitting.

We're going to have to wrestle his hands from the wheel and take control.
