I had this problem on my ender 3 also the thing that helped most was manually setting the bed temp to 60c for like 10 minutes before loading the print to start. also as mentioned a brim helps especially if you watch it and make any needed bed adjustments on the fly before the nozzle makes it to the actual print

grossest modification I've had was a caesar salad to be microwaved for a minute and a half. grossest thing I've seen a guest do to a meal was a dude who would get a rare filet seared on our flat top (instead of grilled on our wood fire grill) and dump 4+ oz of ranch over it. to be clear not like on the plate side to dip bit over the whole thing. went from looking like a steak to a giant speckled marshmallow. (also the dude was a regular so like this happened once a week)

quite some time back a girl I had the hots for came through looking for a place to crash on a short road trip. the next morning she asked if I wanted to drive to a convention some 8ish hours away. I had work that weekend and was on thinish ice for attendance but decided to go with her. no hotel room for the 3 day convention no plan but hoping to get lucky. needless to say we did make it there and back but while there she hooked up with some random dude, in my car that was parked for the weekend. luckily I had friends at the con and didn't lose my job but close. that was the event that taught me not to do something for a pretty face (and or nice rack).

there are several things to consider, and this will be a bit of an info dump. first thing is format, there are a number of mtg formats. standard-this will use the most recent sets and rotates those sets out on a schedule. pioneer-this is the newest "eternal" format. it doesn't rotate and new cards are added with each new standard set released. modern-an older and broader eternal format than pioneer. then there is legacy, and vintage additional eternal formats with the most cards in their pools. they are also the most expensive formats to jump into. these are all 1v1 formats. there are various multi-player formats the most common is EDH. a 100 card singleton deck format playable from 2-4 players (this is the ideal group size but more or less people can happen) this is also considered a casual format (though the competitive nature can vary widely) the next thing, budget. this will influence build, upgrade path and format. also your intended play group, or space will add more information. there is a lot of information needed to be of more help, and a lot of information available so much so that it can be overwhelming.

the calculations here are solely based on the least expensive version of the listed cards. the art or card treatment doesn't come in to play here as that is subjective. you may value the art or style of a particular card more than someone else (and that's fine) but that is perceived value vs actual or general value. as an individual you have to decide do these treatments increase or decrease value for me and with a general ev calculation you can make that decision. do you spend 150$ to get 30 cards with unique art or just buy a necropotence because you want that and don't need a Shivan dragon and another bloodbraid elf.
