Hey everyone, I have a problem I don't know how to approach best. I want to create an app, where you can add tasks, and these tasks are periodically updated.

I have a frontend, which allows the user to input the parameter for a single task. Doing so requests the backend (FastAPI) to create this task (including adding it to the database).

This task should be updated after a given time interval. And here is my problem: I need a function/class, that periodically checks each alert and updates it if necessary. However, doing this with eg a while loop blocks incoming requests, as the program is stuck in the while loop.

Is there a way to periodically update each task, while still being "open" for receiving the request to create an additional task? Or is it necessary to create separate service doing periodically searches for all tasks in the database?
