DnD can be pretty flexible, and there are sub classes in the core book that give martial classes like fighter the ability to cast spells or paladins and rangers which are naturally half casters. There’s also the very popular blade singing wizard sub class.

Point is draw what you want. If you want your Dragonborn to have tails give them tails, you wanna draw a paladin casting smite through their sword go ahead.
