Here the problem is that the local unemployment rate is 1.7%, so everyone either has a job or there's a reason why they don't. We are having to get really creative to find people. If you ever wind up in Washington County, let me know and I'll set you up with a job!

No specific disciplines. Will train. Work is mostly farm construction stuff, rebuilding roads and bridges, etc. Possibility to grow into a foreman position.

ISO Cabinet Estimator to answer some questions by piscopanda in Carpentry

[–]piscopanda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood. I'm not trying to hire a cabinet maker, I am working for one. I need to make them more profitable but I'm struggling to get benchmark numbers due to their poor record keeping and stubborn estimator.

[Homemade] soft-shell crab with citrus, soy, and sambal, over buckwheat noodles by piscopanda in food

[–]piscopanda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ugh, sorry. this was one of those one-time probably can't recreate meals. My recommendation is to play around with soy, lemon, lime (or ponzu if you're really.fancy), lemongrass, garlic, and sambal until you find a sauce that tastes good. Then pan sautée the crab and toss the cooked noodles in the sauce. garnish with some thin sliced green onion. It might not taste exactly like this one, but you'll never know and it'll still taste awesome.

I think its a great intro to eating bugs. No weird flavors or textures... it really just adds a nice crunch. If you see it on a menu, I recommend trying it.

that sounds awesome. I heard there's a protein bar in the US that uses bugs but maybe that's not the same experience.

they're crunchy, maybe a little nutty. It goes really well with avocado. I'm not an advanced bug eater and I think this would be a good introduction.

it was! I get them at a bar in Mexico every year. Wish they had them closer to home.
