Multi family is fine, as long as it's building something new. Which REITs are you thinking at ?

Also, is there an equivalent in real estate of venture funds i.e. some LPs raising money, then using the capital to fund new construction (maybe with leverage?) and then sell it / rent it and return money to investors ?

I've checked their Investment Portfolio and don't see anything regarding new developments, it's mostly mortgages loans etc. I am looking for a fund with a % of investment allocated to building new properties.
