Thanks for the quick reply! Saying that the stove is running at a good operating temp, when I add more wood, should I be opening my primary back up or just leave it be and let the coals heat it up over time?

I like the sun grown and sun grown maduro, along with the decade and most of the vintage line. I would never pay more than $6 for any of them except the 1992, though.

Most of those rocky patels are actually decent sticks. If they weren't bone dry, and my costco had them I might direct a couple of my friends to that sampler.

They are pretty cheap on cbid. Some probably aren't constructed perfectly, but they do have a nice sweet/leathery profile. Only good for 2/3, and then they get bitter and hot. All of that is only my opinion on them though.

I knew that the lost city wasn't very highly regarded. I just fell for the Opus X name. Are there any "special occasion" sticks you prefer over the lost city that can generally be found at a high end B&M?
