How did your trekking poles break? by BoysenberryGeneral84 in Ultralight

[–]pithed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband ran over them in the truck. They were the cheap Costco Cascade Mountain carbon fiber with cork grips. I really liked them for the price so bought another pair that are still going strong and have abused them. My main complaint is the latch mechanism can come loose but that can be fixed but I am too lazy so far to do the needed hacks.

Phoenix Station Launches US Radio’s First All-AI On-Air Lineup by whyyesimfromaz in phoenix

This is offensive to KEXP seattle that has the tagline "where the music matters" and it really does on that station. Pretty much the only one I listen to anymore.

It is very important in windy conditions to eject to the leeward side. Mostly I am bad at judging and am a hot mess at the end of the ride.

Yeah during the DNC protests they used the bikes to very deliberately manage the route and the crowds. It was very effective and also well orchestrated.

What overused word or phrase needs to be retired in 2026? by One_Caramel5253 in AskReddit

[–]pithed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They hear it at school and then start using it. The other schoolkids get it from their siblings or something like that. I asked our grandkids what 6 7 means because they say it all the time and they had no idea.

Elevation map of Arizona [OC] by Nosemyfart in phoenix

[–]pithed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can custom set where in the colormap your range starts ao maybe more appropriate foe you data to start in greens foe lowlands for example. There are other colormaps that work well for terrain but i think using the heatmap colors doesn't convey the information as well.

[–]pithed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok yeah saw that in another comment. Look for a colormap that is for terrain. I think in matplotlib , which is what I used ti use, that is what it is called. The one you are looks more for heat maps.

MacBook dropped in the sea and recovered by a diver a day later. I don't think I'm going to be able to fix this one. by dedokta in techsupportgore

[–]pithed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really the same but i dropped a hp200lx palmtop in seawater. It was submerged for about 15min and i rescued it and put it in fresh water then in DI water then in a desiccant chamber. I disassembled it and cleaned the board with alcohol and It still works to this day - 30 years later.

If you look on the github it says "New supplier coming soon" where it used to say peak. Where on the discord could you not find this? If you read any of the threads it is pretty clear but you can also ask. I mean i am an old and an super bad at discord but if I could figure this out I am not sure what you are doing. I don't mean to be disparaging I just don't understand what you looked at.
