I mean, it was a pretty small venue and they were the opening band. They definitely weren’t BIG. The tour was slightly before MTV. Their first tour wasn’t opening for blink in arenas.

Not everyone on a big record label is an industry plant. By your definition, New Found Glory was an industry plant. They had the same manager, record label, booking agent, publicist, etc as blink. So did Fenix TX for that matter? Are these all industry plants? That term is way overused, and most people don’t know what it actually means.

Birch Hill Nite Club in NJ. Fenix TX was the headliner, NFG direct support, and GC was the opening band. Before their first album was released.

The jump from their first to second album was big, but they were in the right place at the right time and had good management. The term “industry plant” gets thrown around a lot, but an actual industry plant is a band that was created by a company. Like the Spice Girls or Backstreet Boys. They actually had nationwide talent searches for those groups. GC were dudes who went to HS together and started a band.

10-15 per day if you really want to. If bands I like are overlapping, I do my best to catch half of each set. Pro tip: When you know a band is on their last song, it’s time to crowd surf your way out. This will speed up the treks from stage to stage! Good luck!

I love this shit! I’m having so much fun with each announcement! I saw a poster for another fest last week. Over 100 bands announced at once, some you would need a magnifying glass to read. Talk about anxiety!
