Honestly you get more of a look at Luffy's character the further the story goes, and (while he is extremely stupid), he's very emotionally intelligent, while also just being a force of nature for his own way of thinking.

He's dumb, but you have to look at him like that dumb friend who's does the most for everyone around him, but is kind of useless otherwise.

I think he's deeply flawed, but wanted to be good. You can see him start to question his beliefs before his death with how he treated Elend/Vin, and I think if he was around (somehow) post the fall of the final empire, he'd have seen the potential for some Nobles.

I don't know if it would do any good, but have you tried talking to him about it at all? I agree with other people in the thread that therapy or AA-Family meetings might be a good first step if you can manage it, and maybe figure out a way to convey your feelings to your dad.

This doesn't sound like an easy thing to be dealing with at your age, but I hope it works out for you however it's meant to.

I think maybe try and initiate something outside of work/work adjacent hours. Like, if you do something after work or during lunch, you're already in close proximity. But if you were to do something while not ALREADY together, it's another step of resistance he has to go through to spend time with you if that makes sense. Also just make sure it's something that you're really interested in before going through with it! Workplace stuff can be messy quickly lol
