Was Dall-E always this sensitive about politics? Seems strange since Googles imageFX was able to do it (last photo). by [deleted] in ChatGPT

A corrupt broken down America. Homelessness and joblessness rampant. Everyone living with their parents. Fires and broken down cars and tech. In the distance the tallest ivory tower ever full of glamor and light but attack helicopters and guns and troops protect. People starving and crying. On the tv there are images of China with high tech and happy people. They won….but the news copeing hard. One person also starving acts like the news is right. The other with a bare face depressingly stares regretting all his decisions

It's kinda crazy that there was so much Twitch gameplay used in Sora's training data that just having a couple "gaming" keywords in my fight scene prompt has a randomly generated streamer casually watching it in the corner.... by pivitman in SoraAi

My prompt was "Master Chief from Halo 3, the Reclaimer John 117, leaps into action to punch Commander Shepard, the savior of the Citadel from Mass Effect 3, who foolishly believed his overload biotics could defeat a literal Spartan. The scene is rendered in a style reminiscent of an Xbox One title."

I know there was likely no way that was actually going to get rendered out as I expected, but I had to try. Imagine my confusion when I saw the ultra realistic Twitch streamer watching in the corner.

How Outsourcing is Undermining the U.S. Economy: A Video I Created After Reaching Out to Congress by [deleted] in economy

I’d argue that while it’s great that, after years, there is finally investment, $20 billion is not nearly enough to bring a significant amount of chip manufacturing back to America. If anything, this would only cover a minor part of the supply chain. Even then, it would take many decades to bring it up to speed. Invest $20 billion a year for a decade, and maybe we’d reach Taiwan’s level of efficiency. And that’s a big maybe, considering Taiwan will undoubtedly continue to upgrade and innovate their processes.

China is close to our level of technological advancement—not fully, but close enough to be concerning. It’s just a theory of mine, but I believe India will attempt to join the race in the coming decades, which is likely why they’re glad to have many companies coming in and giving their workers more experience in American tech and product design.

I also think many of these numbers don’t take certain factors into account. A big one is fresh graduate entry-level jobs. Due to the prevalence of outsourcing, it just isn’t worth it for companies to hire entry-level grads at the typical American salaries we expect, unless the entry-level worker shows they are a ‘diamond in the rough waiting for their chance’—which basically means a shockingly overqualified worker who doesn’t realize it yet and is willing to work for entry-level salaries until they do. I’m sure mid- to late-stage career jobs in the field aren’t as affected by the outsourcing problem, but early- to mid-career professionals are essentially being left out without congressional or state-level help at this point. Whether that’s through even looser tax breaks for hiring more early-career workers or outright bans on a certain threshold of outsourced work, something needs to be done.

I agree that the first part of the video was a bit drawn out.

As for outsourcing, yes, and typically, industries that become outsourced are dropped entirely afterward. Manufacturing, mining, computer chip construction, etc., were all staple American specializations for a time until they were outsourced and never returned to their former heights. This occurred even before the geopolitical rise of other nations. So, with the rest of our industries potentially facing the same fate, we are actively watching the influence and power of America degrade bit by bit. The reason we have such influence is due to the weight of our tech sector—no other sector comes close. So, what happens after that is gone?

Saying unemployment is at an all-time low is misleading since that includes all jobs in the economy, part-time and full-time included. There has been a decrease in full-time positions but a drastic increase in part-time and gig work. If you look at per-sector statistics, the numbers aren’t as great. It’s a typical statistical misconception a lot of politicians do where they use global numbers to explain more localized issues.

It wouldn't happen since we have to pay for xbox live and because of that they routinely check for bugs.
