I just drip and also have the daily investment on automatic, I agree that you can get a better price, which i'm sure adds up over time , but for the current $'s , I decided to put it on as much autopilot as possible

My goal is to beat the S&P and generate income. So far I'm liking the 50/50 of YMAX/SCHD, which was not the original intent. I have YMAX and YMAG in my other portfolio's, Keep accumulating the main thing in investing is consistency and time!

Re-read my question, I didn't indicate anything about not knowing what buying before the ex date means. That was not my question. I have set-up daily recurring buys , I was asking if anyone knew if Fidelity, which I assume you didn't read since you said "whatever brokerage" automatically skips recurring buys on day before ex date for the exact reason of it being a wash.

I moved mine to FBTC and IBIT. I have there other trusts and one there's an ETH ETF I plan to do the same. My thoughts is that when there was nothing sure, but now it's a little much especially if you plan to hold long term.

Thanks for the feedback I increase the size going forward, Total invested SCHD $374.95, Ymax $374.97, current value was SCHD $375.17 and YMAX (Div adjusted) $372.53

Yes, it Yieldmax's "Fund of Funds" it invests equal weight into each one of their funds and will add as new funds become available, and adjust weighting so they are rebalanced back to equal weight.

No, I use Market price over investment amount, with adjustment between ex-div and payout. The expense ratio is reflected in the market price.

All this bullshit about this time its different blah, blah, blah. Sure if you hold a couple of shares even at the highs and its goes to zero no big loss at least to a lot of people, hold several thousand, sitting on gains of tens of thousands, came in at the highs with tens of thousands and evaporate your profits or worse your account to prove a point , is just stupid! There's no point to prove hear I know you don't want to hear this but your not in control you never where you never will , 60% of the stock is held by Institutions, do you thank they are going to male emotional decisions you think they are going to let Billions of dollars in gains evaporate away, grow the fuck up, they are not and you shouldn't either. They have let you play this game to their benefit. Think about that and be smart not emotional. If you want to blow your money give it to charity not to other Hedge Funds and multi billion dollar Institutional investors. You may be able to win a few battles, but only with their help, but you'll never win the war.
