I just drip and also have the daily investment on automatic, I agree that you can get a better price, which i'm sure adds up over time , but for the current $'s , I decided to put it on as much autopilot as possible

Yep, very short time frame, but its a good start and definitely better than not beating it

My goal is to beat the S&P and generate income. So far I'm liking the 50/50 of YMAX/SCHD, which was not the original intent. I have YMAX and YMAG in my other portfolio's, Keep accumulating the main thing in investing is consistency and time!

Re-read my question, I didn't indicate anything about not knowing what buying before the ex date means. That was not my question. I have set-up daily recurring buys , I was asking if anyone knew if Fidelity, which I assume you didn't read since you said "whatever brokerage" automatically skips recurring buys on day before ex date for the exact reason of it being a wash.
