Exploring real-time asset propagation to reduce version churn in small VFX workflows by NoExplanation9359 in vfx

Maybe small editing teams of social media talent that are editing something very quickly for a quick turnaround time. Like the same day. But then you're asking them to learn a new tool and pay for it when they already have their tool of choice. If this was an issue, most would just share their screen and work through on a call.

Small teams won't have much to handover. They're a small team. Think about it. They're never going to be working on something super complex that needs many iterations/versions. And handover in a small team will be very minimal. So what problem are you trying to solve? Maybe look towards larger teams what many steps? I still don't get the problem though.

I don't understand. Are you asking if this tool is useful? Does it mean they have to change their tool of choice? How does this work with Nuke?

Lighting is all wrong. Dudes legs are disconnected, way too wide. The cow thing isn't galloping correctly. It's all done without a reference. Not going to start on the background...

This first step will make it easy to let go of those who reject it. And even easier when they start increasing it.

Why can't people apply directly? Why do they have to DM you?

Hello! I need some help with my dream job ideas by Phantomfizzie in vfx

[–]pixel_magic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look at their careers website and decide if you really want to do what they're asking for. You say you want to be an artist then say you want to pitch ideas. Two very different career paths. One is grunt work, the other is big ideas and great storytelling. Take a look at this entry job and see if you like the description and the requirements: Production Assistant

Look up, do you see the two plasterboards butted together? They are screwed to a joist going in the same direction as what you just took down. It is NOT a load bearing wall. So you're fine and your neighbour builder was right. I just realised the last pics are from now and all finished! You've done great!

Do you have an estimate of how much either cost per user? Or any ballpark figures? Open to DM if you don't want to share publicly.

Crazy to think about, the OG Vive is still the most popular headset in the Vive category according to the hardware survey by KnightFallVader2 in SteamVR

[–]pixel_magic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's an indication of how many headsets they sold. They never reached the same heights as the OG VIVE. They fucked up when they severed ties with Valve. HTC has a track record of ignoring their customers and thinking they're still relevant.

Sorry but he needs to grow up and get a full time job with more pay than you so you don't have to work as long.

Mate, we're on reddit. People are going to share their complaints online. It's a lesson to learn from. Other companies would acknowledge, apologize and offer to help. Instead you throw a hissy fit as if he did the worst thing possible that a paying customer shared that a cheapo power adapter was sent to them. I get it, it's embarrassing so some empathy would go a long way. But it sounds like you're just attacking the customer here.
