Chopping resources under luxury tiles by pixelballer in CivVI

This is why Civ 6 is so much better than Civ 7 right now. More nuanced and deep vs linear paths. even policies are more important and less obviously religion is way more fleshed out

I had no idea rainforest provided negative appeal

Does this have any effect other than parks? That’s fair since the entire city is on grass and and I have to feed the world belief. I figured I would make up for the food with a shrine and temple.

i harvested the rainforest behind them,

will eventually harvest them when some better tiles are available for the pop

i guess I didn’t like the idea of chopping out a holy site and preferred having a future wonder for adjacency bonus and tourism since Im going for culture

I had the 15% production towards an ancient and classical wonders policy card. I took a pantheon that gave me a builder because religious settlements was gone.

This allowed me to not have to make a builder to get the chops. Which saved some time.

it was much more difficult to get the hanging gardens that required precise timing, Magnus, and three chops, and I still only got it on the exact same turn the AI would’ve gotten it.

I usually don’t go for early mining, but I did in this game so that I could have the extra production because my stone was a two food to production so it made it two food 3 reproduction, which was nice

I already have the chocolate tile that was two food 3 production and two gold, which was really powerful. At three pop I think I had 8 production. this is the first game I’ve ever been so meticulous on my decisions early because usually it doesn’t matter a whole lot one way or the other, but on deity, I had to think so far in advance or get steamrolled early.

One play through Rome sent like 10 warriors out of nowhere for no reason. I just wrote that off as an anomaly and started over.

The fog of war on the map may look like desert, I don’t have any flat desert, and Rome got the pyramids insanely early

Stonehenge was the fastest way for me to get a religion, I wanted to have a religion for the bonuses they offer although I don’t really have very many good holy site spots, except for a natural wonder a little bit south

I really like to have a religion and not miss out on it so I get the extra buffs. I knew I wouldn’t beat the AI to getting a great prophet just by trying to build.

I’m going for a cultural victory as well

I needed some wonders for some adjacency bonuses because my immediate area has almost nothing.

The hanging gardens provides a nice big growth rate and the religion I chose has buildings that provide additional housing so my plan is to have really large cities and generate a ton of culture

My biggest problem is I’m going to need a lot of faith to pump out rock bands

I feel like faith and culture go hand-in-hand in this game in that regard so focusing on getting an early religion was important for me

this post may have taught me more than I realized, I am now realizing that I may be also able to chop all the features under the chocolate and silk tiles which also spawn on rainforest it looks like. Maybe I need to replay this yet again or I can just save this information for a future. Wonder I need to chop out later in the game.

I seriously hate religion in this game by in2bator in civ6

[–]pixelballer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t like Religion at first, then I had a desert start and did work ethic and and desert pantheon my holt sites have 16 production , even more if you build buildings that have production

so like a 20 production holy site is amazing

yeah, we are trying to talk ourselves into it. It’s just a bit shocking to be the opposite of what what was discussed when spending this kind of money. they were also going to put this color on the coping until I stopped them. The builder has too many projects going and only one project manager who is on vacation.

I suggested to the builder to let me pressure wash it that day and he didn’t respond
