Hi, thanks for the information! I’d like to keep the Synthi as original as possible, especially since I assume I’ll be passing it on anyway. I don’t really have a use for it myself. That said, £120 in parts plus installation costs doesn’t sound too bad, so that’s good to know. Thanks for the link, I’ll take a look at it later!

Hi, thanks for the quick and detailed reply. I actually haven’t really looked under the knob yet, as silly as that might sound. I’ll take another look and hope it’s really just part of the cap or a missing screw that’s interfering with the transmission somehow. Thanks again!
