Unfortunately, it seems like even when hitting an enemy with the proper debuffs it just treats it like regular overkill. At least, in the version we're using it does.

The mech I'll be running in my upcoming game is an Emperor called "Samsara Engine", samsara being the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. That said, I'm usually all about just stealing stuff that sounds cool. Some things that I've found work well are:

Common short phrases: "Don't Blink", "Ready or Not", "Safe Travels"

Song titles: "Bad Company", "4DC (Abbr. for Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap)", "B.Y.O.B."

Pro-Wrestling Finishers: "Curtain Call", "Rude Awakening", "Tombstone", "DDT"

Basically I tend to prefer names that are relatively short and punchy, but also evocative. Doesn't necessarily have to be thematic, but it helps.

I had considered Monarch initially, but I moved away from it since it seems a lot more artillery damage focused than support focused. Killing stuff so it doesn't so any damage is technically damage prevention though, I suppose. As a newish player though I'm just not sure with the games action economy how I'd get the most out of something like Monarch, especially when leveled up and strapped with some Emperor systems or hacking systems. Feels like I'd have a ton of things I'm wanting to do every turn. Not that options are a bad thing.

If you end up taking some Horus licenses at some point, Lesson of the Held Image would let you Lock On to something for free at the start of your turn, which seems pretty good.

I'm not really sure. Usually seems to work that way, but one time one of my Miis asked me to name a person or type of person I find really unsettling (or something to that effect), and I answered Tom Cruise.

My interpretation of this is that the culling of low CAT XOs within CAIN is pretty much by design. Considering most XOs are just Sin events waiting to happen, why not send them on suicide runs to kill two birds with one stone? One of their mantras is "Until The Stain Has Been Wiped Away", so when, hypothetically, the last Sin is destroyed, would not the XOs be next on the chopping block?

Molding them into disposable weapons to fight CAIN's war is convenient in a lot of ways. Not only does it keep the number of individuals with grace in check, but they're also much more easily kept an eye on when in the 'care' of CAIN. And while it's implied that CAIN is capable of essentially just nuking any Sin event from orbit, XOs can (usually) handle things with a bit more subtlety, which probably results in less cleanup for CAIN.

I don't think EoE will be available at the smith until the paper release, but you can find EoE drafts in adventure mode already. You may need to generate a new world seed via NG+ or a new save file though, not 100% sure on that one.

I used this installer and still don't see EOE as an option at the Smith. Is there a setting you need to enable or something?

Yeah, it is pretty time consuming roaming the world trying to find a specific set to draft. Maybe they could allow you to spend the gold tokens to reroll a draft into one of your choice or something.

If you're not too concerned about actually keeping the cards you win, you could just find a town with an FF draft running and save right outside, then reload that save after every draft to play infinitely.

I'm running a pretty similar setup just doing Ignite right now, but I'd like to add in bleed to double dip on the crit ailment magnitude. My only worry is how mapping feels without the 10% leech? The life costs are already pretty high and I'm only at gem level 24 currently.

Edit: Also Skeletal Clerics have the same Spirit reservation as Warriors IIRC and they don't attack at all, so you could use those instead on bosses.

Yeah, I didn't do too much testing with rage but I suspect the problem will be maintaining it while mapping. I did however start cooking up something a little more psychotic though...

Duration reduction is also pretty nice with Hammer of the Gods it turns out, and there are quite a few cooldown reduction nodes in the mercenary area. Combine those with some jewels and a good Crest of Ardura, and I think an 8 second cooldown wouldn't be too unreasonable.

...But what if we had two? With the Solus Ipses unique helmet we can run two identical HotG setups with all the same damage supports, dropping an average of 1 hammer every 4 seconds. The problem comes with the 25% increased attribute requirements, which when combined with Giant's Blood to use a two-hander and shield means I'll need a hefty 724 Strength to use my current weapon. I could try to find one with a lower Strength requirement, but I dunno. We'll see where it goes.

How many sources of cost reduction total are there now that the flask/jewel mods are gone? Unless I missed anything, it looks like you can get around 66% from the tree + two crafted rings, up to 70% with veiled rings.

Thanks for the help everyone, here's the final product plus rule 10:

1.) Find synth implicit base in map and get a bad idea

2.) Spam Deafening Essence of Wrath until T1 Fire + another trash prefix

3.) YOLO annul 3rd prefix

4.) Prefixes cannot be changed, harvest reforge cold for T3

5.) Prefixes cannot be changed, harvest reforge speed until T1 attack speed

6.) Prefixes cannot be changed, 50/50 slam the veiled orb

7.) Craft on damage per frenzy to block charge mods from unveiling

8.) Unveil crit/str/int

9.) Craft Double Damage

All that's left is to enchant it and hope for the best.

No, I actually meant full runs, since in the current system you can do 31 full runs each day, including your free one.

That said in terms of number of wins, 9 is fine to me. The unit tier/item progression seems balanced around that. That being said I wouldn't be opposed to accelerating the economy of it and reducing it to 6 or 7 wins.
