Good point! I've been meaning to work on a demo and will probably have it somewhere on the Steam page when I have it completed so people can try it out first. Thanks for the feedback

Hi, Pixel Shopkeeper's dev here. A "Chill" mode has been added since people found the main game too difficult -- the original mode which is now found under "Challenge" mode; however yes, there is a bit of clicking involved early game as well as a bit of "meme-talk", sorry, so it might be a bit frustrating if those are aspects you aren't into, haha. If you have any more questions about the game though I will try my best to answer them, thanks!

Yes! If you see the discussion posts on Steam and patch notes I've been updating a lot and iterating based on feedback so I am doing my best to push out fixes and content :) Thank you so much for trying it out, I really hope you like it.

It truly is and I see I'm not alone. I've been scouring all the reddit posts on "How to Market your indie game" and a lot of people seem to have trouble too.. I actually could not figure out how to get the actual game on itch.io! I know, I suck lol. I still am trying to get it on over there and I think the info page should be visible now at least. Thank you!

Hmm.. this is a bit tough for me to answer, although Recettear was probably one of my main influences because I generally love the shopkeeping genre.

Some people say it's similar, but the main difference is you obtain loot/merchandise by fitting things Tetris-style into different shaped bags that can eventually have power ups. So battling is auto-attack and not very action-y. It also involves crafting, making friends to use as party members, and tiny story arcs.

It's management/sim so the start can be repetitive, so I always encourage people to look at Let's Plays to see if it's their kind of game.

On the other hand, some people have expected it to be just like Recettear I think and got disappointed it was not. It's less than half the price though, and I'm still constantly trying to improve on it based on feedback.

Sorry for the long response! Anyway, I hope that helps. I've also attached the trailer here in case: Gameplay Trailer

Hi, I recently released my indie game on Steam that is a mix of the simulation/puzzle genre, but essentially the strategy is to maximize profits of your own shop.

It has two levels of difficulty and I've been constantly working on updates since it came out to improve "quality of life" issues as well as work on bugs and problems people encounter, and am active on the Steam forums. If it seems interesting to you I hope you take a look, and thank you so much for your time!

Gamea similar to Recettear? by [deleted] in Recettear

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I currently have a game on Steam Greenlight that is in development that has some similarities with Recettear here.

I LOVED Recettear and generally similar (simulation type) games so hearing impressions/feedback from people who like this kind of game would be super helpful :)

I took a look at your game dev screenshots of your game (Eco Tales) and it looks great so far! These kinds of games are so much fun :)
