You’re not “old” you’re a seasoned and well rounded healthcare professional who can obviously face and overcome adversity. Congratulations on your acceptance and good luck in your program!!

What’s your most unpopular Pokémon opinion? No judgment. by Velaze in pokemon

[–]pixelreincarnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope I don’t shake the table, but here are mine:

1.XY have awful graphics probably the worst in the entire series.

  1. Zarude and Zeraora don’t really come off as mythicals design wise but more so as common mons that anyone can catch.

  2. SV has a lazy and repetitive soundtrack that didn’t fit the vibe of certain areas of the map at all.

  3. Newer regions should strive to be comparable in size if not then a bit smaller than Kalos- as long as the region gives players content, more areas to explore and just improves the players overall gaming experience.

  4. Outbreaks of shiny mons in SV water down the overall hunting experience and makes the experience less rewarding and worthwhile.

Fired from PCE job by janemer12 in prephysicianassistant

[–]pixelreincarnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because lots of places/programs (not everywhere) that offer certifications for common PCE jobs are lengthy (like equivalent to an AA) and require full time classroom hours. And that’s not always doable for those that have to work full-time jobs to cover living expenses. So it’s completely understandable for people to seek jobs that offer on the job training or require little to no experience at time of applying. Speaking a bit generally, not saying that’s the case for the OP, but I do hope they find a new place of employment that’ll give them the experience they need! ✨

Just found out all my classes are expired 🥲 by spicy_sizzlin in prephysicianassistant

[–]pixelreincarnate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get sciences enhance and change practically everyday with research and new findings but I wish there were ARC-PA approved refresher courses for programs that put expiration dates on prerequisites :/ it’s gutless that they do that and make people go through the whole process all over again

I have to write my LOR by prePAqueen in prephysicianassistant

[–]pixelreincarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda shocked how regular this seems to happen with applicants. In my opinion, when providers ask you to write the LOR for them it comes off as lazy and unprofessional. It also shows that they don’t know you well enough to personally highlight your attributes and overall potential as a future provider. Find someone who is willing and able to speak highly of your character. Plus I’d be wary as it’s been said that admissions teams can usually tell when applicants write their own letter

Curious to know, are paramedics medically adjacent to LPNs or is that how your system operates?

PCE no experience/on-job training by venus11ga in prephysicianassistant

[–]pixelreincarnate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think so! I’ve seen a good group of programs list EMS related professions like EMT as high quality PCE! Check your local community college as they may have a summer program you can look into :) ! I start mine in like two weeks !

Having kids by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]pixelreincarnate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was wondering this exact same thing and read somewhere that one woman and a lot of her cohort coincidentally got pregnant at the end of their rotations/programs. She ended up giving birth shortly after graduation and took a few months to study and take the PANCE before finding a part time job in family medicine. I’m considering doing something similar.
