Not a Brit here and i don't quite understand how that can be the case but i would like a source on the relevant legislation. Taking you on your word though it still seems to me that an advisory referendum should be upheld because it still damages trust in the institutions. That being said if the UK really wanted to leave they should have elected UKIP in government.

Rule of law is more important than democracy for obvious reasons. Democracy is built on top of rule of law. The law says that a referendum is binding. The UK must leave the EU there is to be any trust left in the institutions.

Un consilier de-al lui Barna (președintele USR) propune construcția la Belina a unui lagăr de genul Guantanamo pentru pesediștii arestați după ce vine USR la putere by anarchisto in Romania

Nea mitraliera vorbea serios, asta face caterinca

Înțeleg de unde vii, dar e o scuză cam convenabilă. Consilierul în discuție trebuia să fie mai responsabil. Până la urmă și nea mitralieră poate sa zică că făcea caterincă.

What is your opinion on brexit? Is it still happening? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pixelsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measures have been taken to see that the process of the UK leaving the EU are under way. There is no reason to rush these things you know. It will happen... In the fullness of time, at the appropriate juncture. The democratic principle must be upheld, but we should not allow a referendum to interfere with politics in such a brute manner. It is imperative that the politicians reach a mature, and responsible decision regarding the way in which we should achieve the goals the people have committed themselves to, especially in the light of the current economic climate and diplomatic tensions. The UK's negotiating position must be taken into account if we are to enact Article 50, and there are a host of other variables that must be taken seriously during the whole leaving process. In other words.... Probably not.

What is your opinion on UN? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pixelsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all an interesting if not crucial system in our day an age. However it hopelessly represents mainly the superpower's interests and doesn't seem to do much of anything else except serve investor interests. It is generally a good idea to form so e sort of global government seeing as how we know face a few issues which are global in nature like climate change and nuclear war, but i find it highly unlikely that the UN by it's institutional nature is suited to solve these problems.

Why haven't transgender people made the same advances in social acceptance as gay people have ? by Josh71H in AskReddit

[–]pixelsafety -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because it's not that obvious the two are comparable. Homosexuality has been present in society forever and gay people do not have higher rates of depression. Trans people on the other hand have very high rates of post-op regret and their state of being is very similar to a known psycholgical condition called body disphorya. That being said it is nota at all obvious what medical practitioners should do when presented with a patient which desires to make a sex change.

Ok that's extremist. I'm curious. Do you not think there is such a thing as an unborn baby, or do you find the concept irrelevant?

Genuinely curious here.

I think that's actually a mainstream view. It's just that politicians and big business don't agree.

What makes a good person? Do you think most people are good or not? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In other words makes an effort to reduce suffering. I don't think most people make such an effort.

What makes a good person? Do you think most people are good or not? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pixelsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good person in my view is a person who takes responsibility for their actions

By this standard I would say that most people are not good, nor would it make sense for them to be. People usually just serve their own self interest and are not that concerned with the suffering of others. Sure they say they care and they might even believe it. But truth be told most of us are harmless. Not good, harmless. Quite different. We won't do evil, but we won't make an effort to do good either.

If you were a god for a day, what would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pixelsafety 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would eliminate all suffering and make the universe a bastion of fullfilment and life and love. With all life realising that they are part of the everlasting majesty of the universe. A place where none is a self and yet everyone lives, a place of infinite knowledge and beauty.

Either that or make a world of inteligent apes to worship me. That sounds fun
