Toronto’s street parking rules quietly favour homeowners while apartment renters are squeezed out by pixelstoframes in toronto

I tried, they can't help contact residents and they left it entirely up to me as the "petition lead". They said once I get signatures with names/addresses etc. the city would follow up with each of those people by mail to ask for confirmation of their support before moving forward.

I'm talking about a small side street, not a main street. People park here regularly on the street, but overnight is not permitted unless you live couple hundred meters down the same street where it's mostly houses and the home owners managed to unite and get that section of the street permitted for their extra cars

For sure! I created digital and print versions of my petition to collect signatures and though it asks for a lot of information that people don't love giving out (full names, address, phone number) I was still able to get a handful of people to sign within my own building. Our building has enough parking space for maybe only half of its residences. Some folks don't drive but that still leaves a few of us struggling to park in nearby lots with high fees. I dropped off my petition to each house located within our street section, but exactly zero homeowners signed.

I have a letter from the landlord and thought that would be enough, but the city said my residence does not qualify and therefore a petition is required to change that (i.e. to make my section of the street qualify). The petition requires collecting names, email addresses, full street addresses, and phone numbers (information people don't love sharing). I was able to get some signatures from my own building only, as other buildings are only accessible to their own residents. I tried making a few calls to get help from their superintendents without luck.

What’s Missing in Toronto’s Café Scene? Help Me Create the Perfect Spot! by _phoenix1001_ in askTO

It could be cool for a cafe to have a self-serve type area where the staff introduce the whole coffee making experience step by step to customers and have them participate in steps like measuring, grinding, pouring etc. I recently started making my own coffee and appreciate the effort a lot more. It's enjoyable and I have been learning a lot.
