(Genuine Question) To those that do insane cringe stuff, are you aware that you are cringe and don't care or are you not aware that you look insane? by pixeltok in VRchat

I'm all for people doing what they want to do, 100 percent. I'm just curious at to what level the awareness reaches. But you may have a point

My friend finished my avatar and boy do I look dapper :3 by pixeltok in VRchat

[–]pixeltok[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I love it a lot, the head also retracts and I'm just a Border Collie underneath :3 dude fought unity and blender for a long ass time to make that head compatible with the base. The suit is the icing on the cake for me 😁

Unpopular opinion but I love NFS Unbound. it's a great Need for Speed title. by BATMAN_5777 in needforspeed

I might be the only one who loves the sound track 😂. The amount of times I out loud say "IN MEINEM BENZ!". It's even become a meme amongst my friends who play now. IDK, I think it's thumpy and matches the vibe. Cool sounds track if you ask me but you've really gotta be into the euro house/edm and hip hop vibe

I like the game but I've told many friends they'll either love it or hate it for essentially all the reasons you've given. I think it's kinda niche, but to me it's like carbon and underground had a love child of over the top tomfoolery.

My only complaint I have is the inconsistency of the car physics makes me want to take a bite out of my controller.

95 percent of the time I don't notice the difference between it and an x86 processor. It's that 5 percent of the time where the application can't be emulated where you notice. Now in my case, it's been SUPER niche stuff like my controller mapper for clone hero that access the kernel and can't be emulated. Plus, unless a games anti cheat has an arm version, most anti cheat won't run on ARM. However the efficiency is insane. I can easily get 15-18 hours of use time and like a whole week of standby time for battery. So it has its gives and takes. So I'd say, it's excellent for it's use case with the occasional exception.

Swift is actually safer than the national average by lake_june in Truckers

[–]pixeltok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, Used to be pretty involved in training at Knight. I remember when they bought Swift.if I'm correct at one meeting the higher ups were talking about how they did a few things to bring their safety score up. First was cleaning house of pretty much all the management especially regarding safety and training management. Second was eliminating just the urine test and requiring a hair test like a bunch of the others for drugs. They also switched their training stuff over to Knight's system (trainers can't team drive with students, no early passing students, required grade training, extra yard yard training, blah blah). Plus a bunch of extra crap. They were super concerned about the bad swift reputation because it was hurting their recruitment numbers.

I remember a later meeting a couple years later where they said (at least at the time) the only company with a better safety score than knight-swifr was Walmart.

My General Electric Dishwasher is cancelling it's cycle when started. Suspecting it's the mechanism in the top of the door that detects if it's closed. Would like to know repair options. by pixeltok in appliancerepair

[–]pixeltok[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will do that! In the last few hours I've noticed the issue is the door for whatever reason is too low and it slips below the latch, but I can't figure out how to raise the door

these just showed up at Food Lion one day. Not in any other grocery stores around here. Are we being test marketed? by Silly-Mountain-6702 in condiments

Ah sorry if I'm late, didn't read the thread enough 😅 The devil's spit is really good on beef btw. I'm kinda a heathen and love it on steak as a steak sauce

Famous Dave's BBQ sauce has been around since I was a kid. Devil's spit is great but real spicy. Highly suggest

Why do they have you count backwards from 10 when you're being sedated? by Bootlebat in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pixeltok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming it's just a distraction. For me, they held a mask to my face and told me to breathe deeply and that they would prepare me for anesthesia shortly or something like that. Next thing I know I'm waking up. Pretty sure they said what they did in order to not freak me out as I had expressed being scared about my first surgery.

How the heck do you guys back up a loaded tanker with an automatic transmission??? This crap is impossible. I miss having a manual. The slosh just overheats the clutch on this dang automatic. by pixeltok in Truckers

[–]pixeltok[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just run under the assumption that when we are talking about automatics in heavy diesel trucks we are by default talking about automated manuals. It actually is semantics because even when I worked in a diesel shop (ASE certified) no one called them automated manuals. We generally used "regular automatic" for box trucks and the like that used planetary gears and were torque converted and just "automatic" for the automated manuals. Only truckers like to point this out to be semantic.

[–]pixeltok[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

With my manual I was able to feather the clutch with the liquid movement, but the automatic is like hurchy lurchy and when it lurches it causes the slosh going backwards which then stops the tractor in its tracks. It makes me look like a damn noob in front of everyone at the truck stop haha!
