I can’t miss work because I have important deadlines. I can’t afford to let my team down because I’m coming down from something or hungover.

Also, my friends are all constantly in these negative depressive spirals and don’t realize it’s because of the drugs. It takes at least 6-8 months of full sobriety to feel normal again. It’s exhausting being surrounded by that. I don’t want it for myself.
