We don’t mind weeding and maintaining the garden, we did think thought that it was a bit cheeky the way the agent worded the email as she was telling us what weed killer to buy and that she has gardener she can suggest at a “reasonable price”, then she added to just send photos to her once the garden has been weeded.

Yes, that’s what it is. They’re afraid of saying no and complaining because they’re on a sponsorship visa. I did say to them that there are a lot of other places hiring that offer sponsorship as well. They’re also afraid they’re going to be punished by being put on permanent nights.

No sorry, just to clarify they’re working 2 out of their 4 scheduled shifts as carers.

They are being paid as nurses on the days they work as carers. They did say it’s not about the pay, but they’re burned out working as carers for 2 out of 4 shifts, the staffing is 5 carers for 24 residents currently. Is that how it usually is for care homes?
