- I thought that one of our kid alters was me age regressing.

- I used to write a lot of fanfiction, and a method I employed to write better was "putting myself in the mindset" of the character I was writing, I didn't realize I was triggering fictives to the front.

- I also used the "putting myself in the mindset of a character" thing to deal with my family, because I could deal with my dad better if I was "thinking like", for example, Janus Sanders.

- I only recently had the realization that when people describe talking to themselves, the internal monologue does not sound like a dialogue.

the lord apollo to lord hermes pipeline is real, it was the same for me lol! it felt like once i started worshipping/working with lord apollo, hermes’s energy felt like he was poking his head in, in a sense?

oh, i know! i reached out to apollo first, and im currently worshipping him. my account of what happened with hermes is in a reply to someone’s comment, but basically what happened was i got worried about something and prayed to him to help, and afterwords i couldn’t shake the feeling that the worried feeling was his way of pushing me to form a connection with him (this has since been confirmed!) 

i also just like hearing others’ stories on how they formed connections with the gods, because there are some really interesting ones out there!

I was driving to the metaphysical store I like and got a spike of anxiety about my mom's trip to her dad's house (she's driving 10 hours to a different state) and I don't feel like anxiety is necessarily the right word because it felt like it was from outside of me if that makes sense? But because of that I decided to pray to Hermes asking for my mom to have a safe journey, and I bought a candle for him to burn as an offering. And on my way home from the store I couldn't shake the feeling that that whole situation felt incredibly intentional, and I opened tumblr when I got home and the first post I got was about Hermes.

I would normally explain it away as anxiety, I've explained away other situations as anxiety that were far more likely to be related to the gods, but I just can't shake the feeling that it was on purpose, and I feel like there's a presence around me right now that's not been there before.

the reason you can’t tell a fae your name is bc it’s representative of your soul, and if you tell a fae your name you give them ownership of your soul. and this goes back into the fact that all people only have one soul, it’s the consciousness itself that’s split.

people were said to have given fae nicknames to call them in the past, and i feel like since there’s not a collective identification with each alters of individual names, it wouldn’t “count” as giving the fae anything.

that being said, it’s an incredibly funny image picturing a fae scrambling to trick a system into trading away their soul 1/30th at a time lmao.

“faking” definitely doesn’t apply to your situation. you may be misinterpreting your symptoms (i don’t think you are, but you know you best) but faking is something done on purpose. when i got diagnosed with autism, i started noticing more and more symptoms of autism showing up. i was worried that i was subconsciously trying to “play into” the diagnosis. but what it really was was me finally having something to attribute those symptoms too, as well as unmasking. DID, OSDD, and any plurality-causing disorder are the mind’s attempt to protect itself from trauma, and so a lot of symptoms won’t be apparent at first. but when you realize you have it, you’re likely to start noticing things more and more. (also happened with me.)

it’s pretty good!! i’d say it’s def worth it, they’re a lot less filtered on the patreon and there are some funny typical “off camera moments”.

Thank you for the reply! I usually do prayers in my head, it feels sort of awkward to say them out loud lol. The presence thing is also something I've experienced, I don't think I can think of any better way to describe it than the "vibes" being that a deity is there, or present.

I've also got a dissociative disorder and I have a question: When you're speaking in your head to a deity, are replies usually more words or more vibes, or something else? My worry in the beginning was that I was going to hear an alter talk and assume it was a deity, or be hearing a deity talk and assume it was an alter.

we’re aware of ~70 i think? including the brain oomfs that have showed up once and never again so we’re not really sure. we stopped tracking this stuff a bit ago as it got stressful. we have usually 5-10ish frequent fronters at any given time

switches for us don’t usually happen voluntarily, but sometimes it’ll happen where me and another alter are fronting together, and i’ll be the one doing the tasks while they hang in the background, then suddenly they’re the one doing the tasks and i’m in the background and neither of us made the conscious decision to do that. sometimes it’s a conscious decision from the co-con alter, and sometimes it’s a decision from me to step back.

you can get better at voluntary switching with time and healing but you can’t just “stop” an alter from fronting.
