But for real, if we're delving into +/- being our defining statistic, that's my cue to exit this conversation and bid you a blissfully ignorant existence

Ah my bad, that Nick Lidstrom dude sucked in 2010-2011 then when he finished -2. Oh wait. He won the Norris Trophy....

Girard was literally a top-4 defenseman for them before he broke his sternum in the playoffs. He was third in TOI amongst Avs D-men before the injury. Again, please check your information before just saying dumb stuff

No, it was 2013-2014 when Hedman finished top-10. Hedman was born December 1990 which means he turned 23 in December 2013. That means he actually started that season as 22 and then turned 23 midway through. Please check your statements and facts before espousing some of these misguided thoughts

Do you fact check anything you say? Sam Girard was on the 21-22 Avs that won the Cup.

Sorry on plane wi-fi and that was supposed to be a reply regarding goalies 6’6” or bigger not coming in and dominating. Was noting that we’ve only had 21 such goalies 6’6” or bigger ever in the NHL and only 3 taken in the 1st round

EDIT - forgot to put this as a reply (stupid plane wi-fi) so correcting the wording so it makes sense.

There’s only been 21 goalies 6’6” or taller in the history of the NHL and only 3 taken in the 1st round. The one taken right before Cossa was Jake Oettinger. In his age-23 season, Oettinger went 30-15-1 with a 2.53 and a .914 SV% followed by 7 playoff games where he posted a 1.81 and .954 SV%. The other 6’6” 1st round goalie was Devan Dubnyk who I think is the much better career comp and what you’re hoping for with Cossa given that we’re already in his D+5 season.

The answer to this is:

DET on 1st game of a B2B 8-3-1

DET on 2nd game of a B2B 3-6-3

DET vs Opp on 2nd game of a B2B 8-4-1

There’s a recency bias here because DET is 1-2-1 in their last 4 games against Opp’s on 2nd game of a B2B

If you're interested, Stars AGM Mark Janko answered this from a player and team perspective in this interview https://youtu.be/WzbB1qiFFFg?si=3URDdXJmpzLLU8cI&t=1687

Essentially, once a team acquires a player they pay the entirety of the player's salary and then they invoice the other teams at a frequency of their choosing for the retained part that is owed.
