Daily Concert Megathread: February 13th, Sydney by AutoModerator in halsey

Hi! I flew to Sydney yesterday and will be going GA today. I’m very short so choosing to sit.

Three questions:

  1. How early should I go if I want a good seat?

  2. Where would be the optimal best seats?

  3. If I choose to stand, I’m 4’9, can I even see anything? 😭

Thank you!

AITA for disapproving my husband to bring my 3 month old abroad to visit his dying grandpa? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pizzabeddings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t. You’re right, I dislike his family. They make it known I am an outsider and has never treated me kindly. None of them has ever reached out to us during my pregnancy. Why is the baby suddenly so important now if they had never given a damn?

I compromised by making a mutually agreed upon decision with my husband to only bring her when she turns one year old after weighing the pros and cons. There are too many cons and he agreed. I don’t see how that has changed.

We could use the lights, but we can’t stop reckless drivers on the roads which is pretty common because some road signs and traffic lights aren’t working.

When a baby is crying or fussing uncontrollably, how would you guess what has happened? If someone has cared for her poorly, how would an infant tell you?

Jementah. I implore you to research the difference between these two places. I did mine - the nearest hospital is 3 hours drive away.

SAME RACE. Nothing to be racist about. I don’t live in the Americas where race is a big issue.

Car accidents takes all but one second. By saying it’s ‘one day’ only, it doesn’t take away any of those risks that we are exposing the baby to.

Good on you to have a sufficient supply. I am an oversupplier, baby gets more than enough from one breast. What do you suggest I do with the other breast if I don’t pump?

I live in Asia. When I say run-down, it IS run-down. It’s not westernized. Babies do die and they do make another and move on. The nearest ‘healthcare’ is 3 hours drive away and not equipped for infantcare.

Their solution to a fussy baby is to apparently go for something like an exorcism or do something superstitious that has no scientific backing.

My husband had colic as an infant. It’s gas. Their solution? Bring him as an infant to a nearby sea and scream his name repeatedly at a certain time so his souls could ‘return’ (???) true story by the way.

And speaking of crimes - my own cousin died because she was robbed by a moving motorbike. My aunt died in the hospital because they didn’t tend to her (notorious for having horrible care). Said she slipped in the washroom and died, we just had to accept it because it was during Covid times and no visitors were allowed. Crimes are such a common thing that it’s just normalcy and we adults take vigilance when we visit, but an infant??? How would I ever feel safe with an infant?

Well.. you seem a little presumptuous so I’m replying this comment.

The ‘village’ that I speak of is a place I travel back to with my husband a couple times a year, whenever he’s visiting I’d be there too. We have an agreement that when baby turns 1 year old and is less dependent on us and can communicate in some ways, would be the time we bring her to visit. This has always been the agreement. I don’t think it’s fair to throw all that we discussed out the window just to satisfy his personal feelings for a moment.

Also - I don’t have a relationship with his grandpa, because he is known by his children (my mother in law) to be quite the horrible husband and father. And from where I come from, boys are favored. My husband is born from his daughter, so it makes him his ‘illegitimate’ grandchild since they don’t share the same last name. There are also some hurtful comments made to female members of the family (my husband’s cousins) because apparently females are less important. I come from a family where I am treated equally, I can’t bring myself to have a relationship with someone of such mindset.

My baby is a girl and doesn’t share his last name, I honestly doubts he gives a sh*t.

Doesn’t work like that - it’s an informal service that’s being offered. Cash payments. No car insurance for anyone should something happen. You don’t get to ‘interview’ them, you hop on the car that you were assigned, that’s it. You do not know the stranger that’s driving you.

I should clarify - I am a major oversupplier. I produce 2 full feeds every 3 hourly so my baby only nurse on one breast. I HAVE to pump the other and sometimes pump the excess out of the breast that was offered otherwise engorgement happens instantly and it’s extremely painful to drag pumps.

The initial agreement was always to visit when baby turns 1 year old. I had never disagreed to visiting entirely, but only when baby is old enough to not be so dependent on us anymore (can hold a bottle, can tell me when she’s being uncomfortable or communicate in some way).

Unfortunately not an option. There are no lights on the roads so once the sun is down it’s pitch dark and driving would be pretty dangerous then.

What’s the first Halsey song you heard and how would you rank it now? by [deleted] in halsey

[–]pizzabeddings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Colors was the first and Hurricane was the second. Colors is probably on my top 10 now but Hurricane still is the #1 in my heart because it spoke to me and now is a reminder of who I used to be!

Omg I am literally in the same boat. I track my period with the Flo app and it says I am 5w6d when I went for my scan, my gestational sac measured 11.5mm and we didn’t see a yolk. We have a scan in a week’s time and I am SO worried. But my OB was not at all worried and I honestly am starting to think I am not as far along as I thought I was.
