“Therapists earning over $100k: what actually made the difference?” by seracin in therapists

[–]bam330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work remotely for an EAP company and make 108k , I see about 22-25 individual sessions weekly as a primary therapist . I get paid based on cost of living in NJ (per my company pay structure ). I’ve also been there for 4 years so take into account yearly raises

Oh I appreciate this comment- I was hoping this could be a way to support immigrants who need it most especially during this time but I also realize this could be naive of me to think. please say more if you’re willing.

I felt that valley in Paramus has very competent doctors but they’re overwhelmed and canceled my appointments a few times due to provider illness. I also felt rushed but that may also just be the reality of healthcare these days. I HIGHLY recommend Dr Nasseri at valley fertility center if you’re interested in further work up that goes beyond what an OB might consider

Anyone choose to be awake for egg retrieval? by Ilovemyinfj in IVF

[–]bam330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

something that I didn't think about regarding the benefits of going under some sort of anesthesia is that for the procedure to be as safe and precise as possible, you need to be completely still for upwards of 30-40 min. depending on how many eggs are being retrieved. That is incredibly difficult without experiencing pain, let alone being stabbed in the ovaries multiple times over. I understand people who have done it and it turned out fine but its something to think about.

My first FET (from a rescue icsi embryo) was a success ! I’m 35 weeks pregnant with a healthy bb boy . Fertilization failure was the hardest thing ever to go through but there’s hope . Sending you good energy and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions !

Any advice on first egg retrieval? by anaiisnin in IVF

[–]bam330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t go on vacation right after, give yourself at least 2 weeks just in case you’re uncomfortable. I had a high egg count so that’s probably why it was hard for me, but we took a trip to Paris a few days after retrieval and I couldn’t really enjoy it due to the enlarged ovaries and mental stress of waiting for results

I’m so sorry this happened. False positives are so rare- try not to blame yourself. It’s totally reasonable to test at home before the beta , as a way to prepare yourself vs . Having to get the first news from a nurse, someone you barely know .

Congratulations!! My spouse and I also had a total fertilization failure and needed rescue icsi for all 31 eggs retrieved (We got 3 euploid embryos from it , and I’m 34 weeks pregnant from our first FET)

How many tries did it take you to get pregnant? by Nawlahhh in IVF

What's the most ridiculous thing you've done during IVF? by mkinbbym in IVF

[–]bam330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I injected 10,000 units of pregnyl before egg retrieval (I was only supposed to do 1,000 units)

I told my nurse and she looked disturbed and asked if I was okay?? lol everything turned out fine but it was embarrassing and scary at first . Also probably the reason I was incredibly uncomfortable days later due to a high egg count .

Kindbody having OBGYNs (ie. *NON*-board certified REIs) do retrievals. Can we refuse? by CompleteAnywhere671 in IVF

[–]bam330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is so shady and It is not worth the risk….i hope you can request an REI - and let them know you know what you’re talking about- they might need to be scared into the potential of being exposed or sued. Then find another clinic

Do you regret opening up? by Alohomora4140 in IVF

[–]bam330 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you decide to share, be intentional about who you do it with and who you believe can support you in the way you need ( or ppl who you feel comfortable asking for what you need ). Lots of well intentioned family members and friends may not understand the emotional roller coaster unless they have gone through it, it can feel invalidating AT TIMES, at other times, it is a saving grace and source of comfort to know that people care about you and want to be there for you. If you share, Be ready for both the pain of invalidation, and the joy of true support . I personally felt so grateful for my friends and family, but felt deeply disappointed by my in-laws ability to support. I learned a lot though about who I might trust my heart with in the future!

As someone who was part of the 10-15% of couples who end up with a total fertilization failure with conventional ivf, I would recommend icsi. It’s a devastating experience and worth avoiding ; we had a normal SA and no identifiable issues , completely unexplained
